Melasma due to pregnancy usually regresses within a year after delivery; however, areas of hyperpigmentation may never completely resolve. ...Read more

I stopped breastfeeding for my 19 month old baby. Aftr 1 week its got normal..then two breast are itching .

Still going strong: Check your breast for any sign of yeast infection to cause itching around nipples, or mastitis with which you may have redness or tenderness also. Since after stopping breast feeding, your internal clock still needs a little time to send the signal to stop producing milk, you can expect to feel unease for a while. ...Read more

Prolactin: just because you didn't breastfeed doesn't shut off the flw of hormones that stimulate lactation. It is a bit unusual to see elevated hormone levels this far out from delivery. See your OB and get some hormone levels checked if this symptom bothers you - it should go away over time ...Read more

My wife is breast feeding. She complains of itching breast?

It can be treated with prescription ointments and creams, so i would recommend seeing your doctor or health care provider if this continues. ...Read more

Breastfeeding. I've had a sharp pain in one breast for a few days. Stays in the same spot. Doesn't feel engorged. Between and during feeding. Concern?

A few things...: It could be a clogged duct - try soaking the area with warm compresses and massaging the area. Shooting pain can also possibly related to yeast. If the nipple is red and also hurting those are more signs of yeast. Can also look to see if baby has signs of thrush (yeast in baby's mouth) which would be a whitish coating on tongue. Pain can also be from a latch problem on one side. See doctor. ...Read more

Yes: While it is safe to breast feed you might consider monitoring the cues of your present baby to see if you can wean after a yr & before the new baby comes along.Continued nurturing time with alternate feeds & increasing table feeds may help this. Is it safe to use lecithin (up to 7.5 g daily) during breastfeeding for increasing the milk flow and to provide choline (via breast milk) to the baby?

Unknown: There isn't enough research to support the use of lecithin supplement as helpful to increase milk flow. Hello dr during my 1 pregnancy i noticed swelling in my armpit my baby is taking breast feed and now i noticed swelling is decrease then before i feel?

Unclear question...: However, if a woman has swelling in her armpit area each time she has a baby and breastfeeds, she might have some extra breast tissue (milk-producing glands) in the armpit area. Her primary care doctor or her Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate to see if that is the case. ...Read more
