Can breast feeding women take yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol)?

Probably: Hormonal birth control might affect milk supply, so it's best to use a non-hormone method, like a copper iud. Birth control that doesn't have estrogen, like Nexplanon implants or the mini pill, is probably better than a regular pill like yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol). If you start on birth control with hormones, keep track of how much milk you are making, and consider another method if it decreases. ...Read more

Baby satisfied: Sounds like maybe the baby has latch issues on the breast and may not be getting as much to eat on the breast as when you gave the bottle. Baby may have some weak suck muscles that make breast feeding harder. Is there a lactation consultant in your area>? That would help so much! You may also benefit form an oral motor evaluation. Good question. ...Read more

My son is 2 years old. But he is not interested to eating food. He take breast feeding. He is under weight & his weight is 10.5 kg now. What can I do?

4 meals a day: Picky eaters are hard to deal with. In general, do not let him nibble constantly. Rather feed him 3 meals plus a bedtime snack. Give him choices but never limit the volume of any food. The objective is to create an appetite and that is only done if he will eat volume and expand his stomach. Then patiently wait a month and see. If that does not work u will need him evaluated by a pediatrician. ...Read more

I had unprotected sex two days after ovulation, since am breast feeding I didn't take any after pills, how can I prevent possibilities of pregnancy?

Nothing: There is nothing you can do a this point to prevent the pregnancy. There are contraceptive methods breastfeeding moms can utilize, but it is too late for that with this incident. Breastfeeding wife of 3 week old has food poisoning (diarrhea, some vomiting). Pediatrician said ok to breast feed. What can wife take?

Breastfeeding: Your wife should be staying hydrated most importantly. Drinking plenty of fluids/Gatorade is important. Don't take any Immodium, you want whatever is in you out of you, and not trap the organism in you. Bigger question is this a stomach bug or actual food poisoning, which if latter then what kind of food poisoning bc that will dictate if you need treatment or not. ...Read more

Is L carnintine safe to take while I am breast feeding?

Is L carnintine safe to take while I am breast feeding?

Probably safe: Levocarnitine and acetyl-l-carnitine (acetlycarnitine) are normal components of human milk that are required for fat metabolism. It appears unlikely that maternal levocarnitine supplements during nursing would be harmful to the infant, but until more data are available, it is probably best to avoid levocarnitine.
