Baby satisfied: Sounds like maybe the baby has latch issues on the breast and may not be getting as much to eat on the breast as when you gave the bottle. Baby may have some weak suck muscles that make breast feeding harder. Is there a lactation consultant in your area>? That would help so much! you may also benefit form an oral motor evaluation. What are the cons of exclusively pumping breast milk and feeding baby using bottle versus breast feeding?

Efficency: It's more efficient to breast feed than to pump & then bottle feed. You also avoid any risk of less than perfectly sterile bottles causing the milk to carry an infection. In addition, baby's nursing tends to trigger you to produce more milk than pumping. Keep breast feeding : Medical studies show the huge benefit of breast feeding. Be patient as it takes a few days for full engorgement and milk let down. Unless babies are premature they rarely need formula because of "dehydration." make sure you stay hydrated with water and are eating healthy. ...Read more
