Sounds like hives: Which can be triggered by allergies, & stress. Sometimes an antihistamine like benadryl, claritin, allegra, or zyrtec can help, as well as avoiding any triggers. Sometimes it can be associated w celiac disease and/or wheat allergy. Nickel can be another trigger. If it worsens please see your doctor. ...Read more

Eczema: Your daughter suffers from atopic dermatitis or eczema. Cotton clothing is best ; avoid wool & synthetic fibers. Maintaining skin moisture is prime treatment. She can have quick daily baths and thick moisturizers applied to her skin & again at night. Give Hydroxyzine for itching. Steroid ointments and oral antibiotics maybe needed sometimes. Possible hives: you may be having a reaction to something. Follow up with your doctor to have him or her check your rash. It is difficult to diagnose a rash without seeing it in person. You can try Benadryl for the itching if you are not allergic to it. ...Read more

Impetigo? Get seen!: It sounds like you could have a rash that became infected. You may need oral and topical antibiotics as well as a surgical scrub like hibiclens or some hydrogen peroxide to clean the area. Dry itchy skin becomes cracked, rashy and infected skin. I think you should head to a physician for evaluation especially because of the yellow crusting. Benadryl may help with itch. ...Read more

Allergy itch: You did right to give him an antihistamine. Benadryl should work well for the type of itching he has. Itchy eyes suggest an allergy to something in the air, but occasionally other causes may trigger eye itching as well. If he played outdoors today, there was probably a lot of pollen around.
