I am a diabetic five days a week I have one peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread and I have avocado is that OK.
That's a lotta fat.: Granted it's not saturated fat, which is present in red meat for example, but you've listed a fairly large intake of fat, which albeit healthier fat could nonetheless contribute to your total caloric intake and contribute to weight gain. Diabetics need to keep their weight in check. I would advise you to cut this back to once or twice weekly, and not the PB and avocado on the same day. ...Read more

Probiotics...: Two probiotics I trust and recommend to my patients are align and vsl #3. In addition to the brat diet which you appear to be on, you could try taking an anti-diarrheal such as kaopectate or Imodium (loperamide) to help control frequency of diarrhea. Your bottom will thank you if you switch from tp to flushable wet wipes. Good luck. ...Read more
Just noticed mold on our bread and I have eaten a bunch of bread the past few days - not sure when it appeared. 32 weeks pregnant. Can it hurt baby?
Nope! No worries!: Even obviously moldy bread, if somehow eaten, would not cause anything but perhaps a bit of stomach upset, and that is unlikely. Stomach acid breaks down the mold, which does not affect your baby at all. Consider that many cheeses have live molds that flavor them, and we eat them without ill effects. Furthermore, your baby's immune system is developing quite nicely at 32 weeks, so don't worry! ...Read more

Welcome to Low Carb: Very typical reaction if you are going extremely low carb......The next day or so the constipation will set in as well. Possibly try increasing your carbs a little but just make them more complex....Instead of simple sugars. For example "whole grain oatmeal or pasta" instead of "regular oatmeal and white pasta". ...Read more
I am a vegetarian I do not eat any refined carbs or pasta rice or bread or sugar. I workout 7 days. What is blocking weight loss?
It's also how much: It doesn't matter if you'e vegetarian or carnivore - you need to burn off less than you take in to lose weight. You may also need to be checked for thyroid, pcos, etc which can make it hard to lose weight. See a good registered dietitian about your caloric allotment and expenditure. ...Read more

Vagus nerve: Apparently these odors stimulate the vagus nerve resulting in reflex nausea and vomiting. This reaction can be blocked by taking atropine type medications or anticholinergics. Some people with this hyperreaction to odors get help by taking peppermint oil tablets (not the liquid). ...Read more
Celiac disease. My doctor put me eat bread with gluten and took blood sample. Two days fatigue, no sleep. Celiac rash. This is wrong! What can I do?
It IS wrong: Unfortunately, insurance companies won't pay benefits unless the blood work is positive, and it will usually not be positive if you are already under treatment. So celiac patients are forced to become sick once again. The US health care system is horribly dysfunctional. I'm sorry this happened, but your physician is as trapped in it as you are. ...Read more

Is this the stomach flu? Or not my son has been going diarrhea for the past 3 days and he has vomited every night. He doesn't have an appetite exepct for bread and crackers. He is not dehydrated and he says that everytime he eats like chicken or a salad wit
Three: Three days is a long time for these symptoms and I advise that he has an examination by your doctor. Having vomiting every night for three days is concerning. The stomach flu is very contagious, so if no one else has it that is also concerning. Please take him for an avaluation. If he has increased pain, fever, or vomiting, or any rash, then he would have to be seen as an emergency. ...Read more
Have been eating meat, cheese, veggies, nuts for 6 weeks; no fruit, added sugar, or bread. Had knee replacement surgery several days ago. Taking meds. Drinking lots of water. No bowel movement for over a week, no pain either. Is this a problem? Thanks!
Constipation: Would suggest adding fruit to your diet unless specific dietary concerns. I assume you restarted rehab. Constipation has to do with decreased physical activities and pain medicine on the postop period. Refinement: White bread is made from flour which has been milled so the husks are removed and only the core remains.
