Patient with stage 4 lung cancer with brain metastasis is having very bloody urine. What does this mean?
Many things: Stage IV lung cancer with bloody urine can mean many things. It could be due to the presence of a metastatic tumor in the bladder or the kidney. Please also note whether or not you are on a blood thinner. In uncommon case, it could also indicate the presence of a primary bladder tumor (though i doubt in this case). It depends: If you are 76, your Dad must be late 80s or early 90s. At such an advanced age it may not be worth being so aggressive with terminal cancer that at such advanced stage means he has only few weeks to few months left. Yes and No: Stage 4 lung cancer is an incurable type of cancer. Only about half of the patients respond to chemotherapy and that benefit lasts for no more than 6 to 12 months. That is about all one can do in the present state of cancer treatemnt.
