Doctor insights on:
Brain Bleed From Fall
How many days after a fall and suffering a possible concussion are you at risk of complications, like brain bleed or swelling?
Concussion.: It depends on the severity of the head injury. Most of the time, the risk is there within 1 week.
How quick would symptoms of brain bleed show after fall, would it be very obvious? 4 days since son fell. Small bump/cranky. Bump gone. Am I in the clear? Fever today & stuffy. Any association?
Bad fall 4+ wks ago. Brain bleed, both sides, brain off center, on CT 3 weeks after fall. Steriods given, not worse but not better. Next step? Meds?
Bad fall, brain bleed. In hospital. Dr put on Decadron (dexamethasone) and Seraquel. Low BP because of seraquel. Would this cause buzzing sound in head? Pain in head?
Is that you?: Or asking on someone else's behalf? After a fall several strange symptoms would start to appear, in the hospital frequent exams would be done to assess status, Decadron (dexamethasone) is given to help shrink swollen tissues in the head after trauma or surgery, let it take its course, trust the treating team,
Dr say 5-10% chance of brain bleed from blood thinner meds is high risk? Mom has blood clots from fall in brain and DVT 1 dr says meds, 1, 1 not sure
Filter: It does appear that anticoagulant therapy would be risky in this situation. An alternative is to insert an IVC filter to prevent the blood clot from traveling from the leg to the lungs. Of course the attending physicians, who know all the findings, are best qualified to give advice in this case.
Blood vessel study: Usually a small bleed in the brain by itself is not dangerous. The main concern is what caused the bleed. Sources can be trauma, aneurysm, avm, tumors, coagulopathies, infections, and inflammatory diseases. Usually a test to look at the blood vessels such as a ct angiogram and/or catheter angiogram are performed along with a series of blood tests to evaluate. Occasionally MRI as well.
Varies: Small bleeds that occur near the 'edges' of your brain may cause minimal symptoms, if any. Hemorrhages that occur near more vital structures and pathways will typically cause symptoms almost immediately.
Depends on location: The location of the bleed may give you some hints as to the possible cause. Intracerebral bleeds tend to come from small weakening in the vessels inside the brain. Subarachnoid bleeds tend to come from aneurysms. Bleeds associated with a tangle of vessels may come from an arteriovenous malformation. There are also cavernous malformations which are sinusoidal dilations of vessels that can bleed.See 1 more doctor answer
No: Psilocybin, unlike some of the other recreational drugs, has little in the way of physical side effects. However, if you are hallucinating or just silly, you may do something dangerous. If you are picking your own out in the wild, please be sure you are not choosing a poisonous species instead.
Brain bleed: I am really not sure what you mean with this... What kind of acid are we talking? Drugs, or a poison? And the brain doesn't typically bleed onto your spine... Are you asking about the risk for a stroke of some sort? Or a neurologic deficit from the spinal cord due to a brain issue? Please explain if you want... Sorry!
Depends on various: Factors. For example if one is on blood thinners, what part of head makes impact, how weak the bone is. If there is any concern, go get an urgent evaluation. If there is severe headaches, persisting disorientation, nausea, vomiting, confusion, delirium, go right away to get evaluated.See 1 more doctor answer
More info: There are too many factors involved in brain bleeding to answer your question, too many variables. Why are you asking did you or someone you know have a "brain bleed"? If so you should be followed closely by a Neurosurgeon. Some can be instantaneously deadly and some can take weeks. Many bleeds get better on their own. See you doctor quickly or go to ER if you think you have a bleed
I just asked about is it was possible to walk around with a brain bleed. I lost the responds. How do I get them back?
