Hi I'm pregnanat and my BP is 150/80. Should I be concerned?

Yes: Your Ob needs to know if your BP is elevated. The top number should be less than 140. This is especially important in the second half of pregnancy as it can represent pre-eclampsia and this can be quite serious. Sudden spike in BP - from usual 110/60 to 141/79. should I start checking daily? No health problems. Now back to normal. Should I be concerned?

No, not now: I think the prudent course of action would be to check your blood pressure periodically, every one to two days, for a couple of weeks. If it stays normal, then you might return to infrequent checks, perhaps every month or two. We are hardly ever able to identify specifically what causes these spikes, but they are common and considered normal. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Should I be concerned about very low BP in a 6 year old?

Should I be concerned about very low BP in a 6 year old?

To answer that, I: Would need to know what the actual BP is. BP's in children are often/almost always lower than the normal adult range. So, what you may be thinking is a "low BP, " may in fact be normal for a 6 year old. If the BP was low for a child, they would probably have symptoms, such as lightheadedness, weakness and wouldn't feel well. If you want more detail, please re-ask your question with the actual BP#. ...Read more
