Bp When Should I Be Concerned Bennet Werner
Should somone with ehlers danlos -hypermobile type be concerned about aneurysms/ruptures? My dr said it is not a concern but I am worried.
Not typically: it is the least severe type of Ehlers Danlos. According to a medical article on genetic disorders "Aortic root dilation is typically of a mild degree with no increased risk of dissection in the absence of significant dilation." ...Read more
I had few palpitations while I was playing soccer. Am young, had ecg before. And the doctor isn't concerned with this.
Should I be worried? Normal?
Event monitor : Palpitations in soccer player or athletes can be benign or very serious. Ask your doctor for event monitor that you can carry for long time almost a month ( not 24 or 48 hour holter ) The monitor will detect the heart rhythm during the palpitations and based on the monitor findings and other information your doctor then can address your concerns and risks ...Read more

Nonspecific finding: Often causes for mild splenomegaly are never found. See: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1600-0609.1986.tb02318.x/abstract The longer you go and feel well, the better. I assume your doctor has checked your liver function and lymph nodes on CT are OK. As I stated in my last answer to you, a F/U ultrasound in a few months may make you feel better to prove stability. ...Read more
INR is fine: A value of 0.94 is not meaningfully different from 1.0, the so-called normal value. If you are overweight, losing weight may help. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

Had ECG doctor says normal although it read borderline intraventricular conduction I take more atenolol than I should at times. Should I be worried?
If your doctor has: interpreted the EKG as normal then you should accept that. The computer interpretation algorithms are skewed to pathology not normalcy. Regardless, nonspecific intraventricular conduction delay is essentially normal so atenolol will not cause any problem. You should not be worried but you should discuss with your doctor as to why you take extra atenolol! Maybe there are better therapies for you. ...Read more
lymphocytes went from 1.5,1.2,to .994 WBC 5.9,5.7,5.1 should I be concerned about this my dr said nothing if yes why and should I get second opinion?
Go ahead, Harold: Please forgive me. By my count, this is the 14th time you've asked this question. You've refused to accept the reassurance we've given you. Please get a second opinion with a hematologist -- and a third and a fourth and a fifth until you're satisfied -- and stop spamming HealthTap. ...Read more
Ekg showed prolonged QTc 474. PCP not concerned. Seeing cardiologist on Monday. Frequent palpitations. Should I be as worried as I am?
Possibly: It would be nice the exact diagnosis of your cardiomegaly (enlarged heart). Without that, it is really hard to tell on how severe and potentially dangerous your condition is. Please describe your symptoms and if you have any work up data, it would be helpful to review as well. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Hi I have a question. I was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope and POTS (postural Orthostatic Tachicardia syndome) by a cardiologist 5 years ago. I am supposed to be taking betablockers but was so afraid to take it I never did. Now, my symptoms are worse an
I did not believe Dr: IMHO it is usually bad judgement to ignore a Dr's advice when you have a severe problem just because you are worried about the medication. Many do very well on BB and become functional again. You do not know if you were one of those. But the decision is always up to the patient. If you do not feel normal I would see the Dr. who did the tests :recommendations. It is good feedback for the Dr. ...Read more

Pediatrician: While the normal resting heart rate of an adult shouldn't exceed 90, children may normally have resting heart rates over 100. Ok..Platelets were at 112 had quick re test now at 125. Er doc want me to see Hematologist....My father has gone as low as 93 (while in military) with no concerns. How concerned should I be?
Platelet levels: Under 50, you are at risk for spontaneous bleeds. Under 100, you are at risk from bleeds after major surgery. At 125, it is certainly lower than normal, but you are not at risk for major bleeding. IT would be appropriate to followup with your primary doc to determine an etiology, but you don't have to rush into a hematologists office thinking you are about to bleed out. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
