Constipated for 4 weeks numerous enemas, 2 bowel preps and laxatives not working nausea vomiting hurts to move doc not doing anything pain is worse
Diagnosis needed: I would be concerned about a possible incomplete mechanical obstruction in your intestinal tract in view of symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.it may be an irritable bowel syndrome with predominant constipation, however. Nevertheless I recommend a thorough evaluation by a gastroenterologist who will order appropriate tests and, if advisable, refer to an abdominal surgeon for evaluation ...Read more
Unable to eliminate bowel for 2 weeks. Laxative and suppository not working. Trying not to eat much. Any suggestion to help movement?
Having trouble w/ hemorrhoids. Using Meds that seem to be helping but still constipated. Is it safe to say it's not the hemorrhoids causing this?
Hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids don't cause constipation, but straining at a constipated stool over time can cause hemorrhoids. Consider a stool softener such as Miralax (polyethylene glycol) or its generic, or Milk of Magnesia twice daily. Your doctor can help you manage your constipation as well. ...Read more

Is it okay to take a laxative after being constipated from taking Imodium (loperamide)? tried Stool softeners, but that didn't work.
The book answer: Is most of bm is made up of sloughed bowel lining and skin. But diets usually include indigestables, vegetables and fruits with skins. A daily bm is normal. Some have multiple daily, but not going 3 days or longer is not clearing sufficiently. Always start simple and natural: prunes and dried apricots. Cheap, tasty, harmless. ...Read more
I take bcaa supple. But seems to give me more frequent bowel move. Does it mean i'm not digesting efficiently? Should i stop taking them? Bm looks like food sometimes instead of feces.
Not necessarily: Digestive efficiency is sometimes difficult to quantify. Bcaa aren't bad if you can afford them. Most likely you have an intolerance to one of the components, much like many people do who take larger quantities of l-arginine. Sometimes adding a digestive enzyme complex with your meals and supplements helps with better assimilation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My bowel will nit move without taking laxatives. What can I do for my bowels to move freely without taking medicine. I have tried everything.
Depends: Given that you are almost 50, make sure you have had your colonoscopy. Depending on rest of medical history, i would limit carbohydrates such as breads, pasta, rice, soda and drink more water, add fiber to diet. You may also create juices (kale, etc) and blend pumpkin seeds which are high in magnesium that is also used for constipation. Make sure the seeds are completely ground. Best wishe. ...Read more
Constipated. Fiber makes me bloated & gassy - no bowel movement. Take laxatives but doesn't work always. N e thing stronger? N e other way? I eat well
Hydration & Exercise: There are many reasons for relative constipation. Have your md review your current medications for constipation as side effect. Fiber (with enough water) very helpful, and you need to titrate up to full doses or you will get gassy. A healthy, fiber filled diet always good, and don't forget to drink more water. Regular exercise also excellent for getting those bowels moving. ...Read more
Careful evaluation: If antidepressants are not working the first thing to do is to make sure that you are not dealing with one of the kinds of depression that doesn't respond to antidepressants (for instance, paranoid depression, or bipolar depression, etcetera). Also you want to be absolutely sure that there is not a medical disease that is causing or worsening your symptoms. ...Read more

Can a gallbladder working 7% not hurt but make stomach swell after eating drinking and takeing meds?
BILIARY DYSKINESIA: A poorly functioning gallbladder has an ejection fraction of 35% or less. About 10% of the gallbladder patients i deal with don't have any gallstones. Bd can cause nausea, bloating, heartburn, and RUQ and back pain. I would discuss this with an experienced surgeon, who can help you decide the best course. For now, i recommend a diet lower in fat. Good luck. ...Read more
Slow moving bowel movements. No matter how much water and fibre i take or any probiotics i take.?
QUALITY MATTERS: When using a quality fiber, you should have a bowel movement within approximately 24 hours of its ingestion. Try using a pure psyllium husk without any additives. Quality acidophilus must either have high potency (e.g., 250 billion/tsp) or be formulated to survive stomach acid. Such products are available from professionals (not over-the-counter) where they are prescribed for medical reasons. ...Read more
20 weeks pregnant and just had gallbladder surgery. So constipated. Is it safe to take an enema? Been taking colace (docusate sodium) and drinking juice. It's not helping.
I've heard that eating stimulates your digestive system and makes you have to poop. So why arent i pooping after each meal?
Thats not true: It is not true and if it was we will all be running to toilet to move our bowels after each meal. There is a condition called gastro colic reflux it has been called into place in the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome, and a number of neuropeptides have been thought as mediater of gastrocolic reflux. These are serotonin, neurotensin, gastrin and cholecystokinin. ...Read more
