Had chemo & debulk surgery for 4th stage ovarian cancer had 2 surgery for bowel obstruct now have hernia & bowel obstruction what's my life expectancy?

Variable: While the percentage of patients alive at five years from many stage 4 cancers is low, it is not zero, and you never know which group you are in as an individual. That doesn't mean to ignore the stats, but in the end, you are not a statistic, but an individual. Can an inguinal hernia cause bowel obstruction?

Can an inguinal hernia cause bowel obstruction?

Yes.: A hernia is said to be incarcerated when a structure within the abdominal cavity gets "stuck" within the hernia. If this happens to be a loop of intestine, this can cause an obstruction and lead to the blood supply of the intestine being cut-off; we call this a strangulated hernia. If one has a large, tender lump in the groin that cannot be pushed back in, this requires emergency md attention. ...Read more

I have been having lower stomach and severe back pain. I was hospitalized for a bowel obstruction. Now i've been diagnosed with two hernias. Are the problems related?

Not sure: I am not sure whether you have had abdominal surgery before by your question , however if you have required surgery before and your hernias are a result of the previous surgeries then your abdominal pain could be related . Hernia: Well, additional surgery can cause even more scar tissue to form. However, if your bowel obstructions are occurring more frequently and are more severe, surgery may be the only answer. If the obstructions are from the stoma hernia, you should probably get that fixed. ...Read more

The small intestine is 15-20 feet long, and can become blocked because of kinking or twisting from scar tissue, tumors, growths, cancers, get stuck folded inside a hernia, or pressed on from outside = "small bowel obstruction".
