may take stool softener like senna, colase, or laxative like exlax or mom;now if you are unable to pass stool.
You can add psylium husk or fiber tablet daily if cannot eat high fiber food.

Water & fiber: You should drink 8-10 full glasses of water each day, and more if you sweat during the day. Mild dehydration is under-appreciated as the cause of constipation. Next, make sure you increase your intake of natural fruit & vegetable fibers. If this still doesn't work, talk to you doctor about starting an over-the-counter stool softener or glycerin suppository. Rarely intestinal tumors cause this. ...Read more

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy on August 27. Have been recently having bowel issues and haven't had a bowel movement in 5 days(that was a small).?
Unrelated : Four months later it is unlikely that this is related to the hysterectomy unless you have some post-op adhesions which could cause a partial obstruction. That would usually cause some pain too. Try starting with increased fluids and fiber. Many GI doctors recommend Miralax (polyethylene glycol). If this doesn't help, talk to your primary care provider. ...Read more

It depends :
If blood in the stoll is red, it may be from a hemorrhoid. This needs to be evaluated and treated, but is fairly common.
If the blood or stool is darker (black) and has a 'tar-like' appearance, it is more indicative of a bleed in the upper areas of the GI tract. This is more significant and needs more prompt evaluation and treatment. ...Read more

Constipated?: Small hard bowel movements, (Bristol 1 stools) are a sign of mild constipation, you should probably increase your fiber and water intake. Pain in rectum sometimes after bowel movement. Few times had clear stuff in toilet or loosely attached to stool with small amount of blood. Causes?
If any bleeding then inflammatory bowel disease would fit well--a serious autoimmune disease with a strong increased risk of needing surgery and/or cancer.
BUT, also possible is irritable bowel syndrome with exactly these symptoms, NO inflammation, tests all negative, colonoscopy negative.
Would need a colonoscopy to tell which. ...Read more

Maybe constipated?: A person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it.
