Dentists give a wide variety of cosmetic appearance procedures using botox, etc. When will they start plastic surgery as part of their practice?

Probably never: To become a Plastic Surgeon requires completing Medical School and then a residency in Plastic Surgery. Completing Dental School makes you eligible to take a residency on one of the Dental Specialties, not Medical Specialties. Becoming a Dentist does not make you eligible for a Plastic Surgery Residency the same way becoming a Physician does not make you eligible for an Orthodontic Residency. ...Read more

Botox injection in rectum and on medication called Suboxone which they want me tapper this medication and take the pain medication does it hurt after?

Yes, it does: Buprenorphine will block the pain-relieving effects of other opioid drugs (like morphine, oxycodone etc.) and if your doctors anticipate that you are going to have moderate to severe pain, the recommendation is to stop the suboxone 2-3 days before, so that their pain medicines will work. Talk to your suboxone prescriber about coordinating care with the people treating your anal problems. ...Read more

Can hiv survive in air tight medication vials, especially botox vials, if vial is shared and contaminated? Last patient before me was around 15hours

Probably no risk: If the Botox vial was accessed only by a health professional with a previously unused needle, there is no risk and no worry. Nobody ever gets HIV by this kind of event in a medical office. But of course no person treating him- or herself should ever use drugs or vials previously used by anyone else; if a used, HIV contaminated needle penetrated the vial, HIV could be a risk. ...Read more

Doc has put me on tapering dose of 60mg prednisolone for chronic migraine not resp. to drugs and partial resp. to Botox. He says that non resp. to prednisolone means my migaine is psychiatric. True ?

Not true exactly: Prednisolone is not a common migraine treatment protocol. Often times there's also a underlying dietary, or food allergy source to migraine that can be exacerbating or causing continuous, chronic issues, along with stress. So it would be good to have a food allergy panel done with complement testing to rule out this possibility. Then look at other possible triggers. You don't want to be on chronic steroid treatment. ...Read more
