Noticed slight bony bump on left tibia(no injury). Can't be seen(small), only felt. Does not cause any problems, and bone never fractured. Is this bad?
Probably nothing: the tibia (and bones in general) aren't perfectly smooth and can have some irregularities. Often times bones can get "bumps" on the from an inflammation of the periosteum or the thin layer of "bone skin" that covers each bone. Not really: I think you have a chance to heal but not a sure thing. Also your pars defect may has been there awhile and may have been aggravated by your accident 7 months ago. Pars defects usually start when you are very young.. I guess it is possible to start a pars defect seven months ago but then it is very hard to detect on xray or MRI for a year or two. ...Read more
