I broke my finger 13 yrs ago. X-rayed and had PT. Knuckle had a tiny piece of bone chipped off. Finger feels jammed and can't bend as far as others.

Be seen: Certainly if you had an injury 13 years ago and have had trouble with it since, it would seem unlikely it is going to get any better by simply giving it more time. Rest: Torn ligaments and chipped bone usually takes a good 6-8 weeks of rest to calm down. Then physical therapy and perhaps an orthotic. Time to get checked.: If it is still hurting after a couple days -- and especially if it is getting worse -- it is time to get it checked. It may still be a bad sprain but there are many types of "small" fractures (or breaks) that need attention or they may not heal properly.
