How do you stabilize broken bones on way to er?

How do you stabilize broken bones on way to er?

Splinting: Anything long and stiff can be made into a splint to hold broken bones stable. Books, brooms, and cardboard boxes have all been used. Sometimes it is just as easy to leave the bones in place and not move it at all. Splinting should also be done without moving the current position of the broken bone, even if it looks odd. In some cases, straightening can cause damage. ...Read more

Horrible pain WHERE?: If you'd like..... but if that visit didn't work the first time do you want to try it again for another 1/4 of a day? I'd just get an appointment with a good primary physician who can start a solid workup to find the root cause of your problem. As long as your vitals and your heart are not at stake then, I think the chance an ER is going "figure out" your problem is low. That's not their schtick. ...Read more

Ouch!: It will take a week before you can keep it open to air and about 2 weeks when you can stop covering it with a bandage at all. The younger you are the faster it will heal. Try some Corium-21 on it after 4 days, it helps wounds heal much faster. You can only get this on line. Until that any triple antibiotic ointment will be fine. ...Read more
