How do I tell the difference between a boil & an ingrown hair in an armpit and do physicians deaden before lancing?
Skin lesions: You may not be able to tell the difference, but the doctor draining this may. Whether they will use a local anesthetic will depend upon the size and position of the "boil". Lancing this is generally not very much more painful than the lesion itself and you will gain much relief from the drainage. Best wishes. Read more

I have these painful sores on my stomach, and they hurt so bad. I think they may be boils or ingrown hairs. How do I treat these?
What is the use of pubic hair? Although shaving gives me boils and ingrown hairs, it really makes the odour from my privates better. Any alternatives?
Sexual attraction: I believe that anthropologically it was an attraction to the opposite sex - both visually, aromatically and for soft touch. Unless there was some illness, the smell was a desired one. If you and your lover prefer less scent, frequent shampooing should be enough to minimize the smell. Scented or baby oil can work too. Perhaps you can learn to like it - it's nature's perfume. Preferable to boils! Read more
If Pilonidal, yes: If this is due to a pilonidal cyst, successful treatment may require surgery in order to excise the cyst contents. If not this could recur. Other standard cysts, abscesses or "boils" may drain spontaneously and may resolve on their own accord with warm soaks or may require incision, drainage and antibiotics. Read more
I have what looks like a boil or bad ingrown hair on my testicals. It poped yesterday and a lot of pus came out. The sore looks deep should I be scard?
Doesn't sound scary: As long as there is no redness etc extending widely in the area, this should clear up without problem. See a doctor if wider redness, fever, or if it closes up again, or if it doesn't seem to be improving over the next few days. Location on the scrotum is no more dangerous than skin anywhere on the body. Read more

Ingrown hairs may be the source so if this becomes a recurrent problem, consider laser hair removal. This is possible if the hair has some pigment to it. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
