Sweating: At least two mechanisms. The body first reacts by dilating (enlarging the diameter) of the vessels near the skin surface, thus allowing for more surface area heat exchange to occur. Sweating is additive to this process, cooling the skin by evaporation. Together, these processes help to prevent overheating. Normally, we sweat as much as a liter throughout the entire day. ...Read more

I find that whenever I am close to or on my menstrual cycle I get hot and overheated very easily. Like my body temp gets extremely sensitive to heat when I could normally tolerate it for longer?
Just a theory....: During the second half of your menstrual cycle, your hormone levels are at their highest. You might be retaining fluid during this time. Hormone levels drop in the premenstrual period and the kidneys remove that excess fluid. If you're relatively dehydrated, you might be more susceptible to heat stress. Perhaps drinking extra fluids will help you tolerate heat better. ...Read more
