Bmi For Female Athletes
Body mass index (BMI) is a measurement based on a person's height and weight, to decide if a person is too heavy or too light for his height. BMI: Bmi is calculated weight to height. Ideal and high risk are standardized for adult ideal is18.5 to 25, 25 to 30 is overweight and 30 plus is considered obese. These are not generally age dependent. Another way to determine ideal weight for a female is 100 pounds for 5 foot and 5 pounds per inch for every inch over 5 foot. There are allowances for large and small bone. Hope this helped.
I'm 46 female with BMI 36.5 I want to oss weight but I don't know how to start... My work is in nightshift
130-170 pounds.: By BMI calculations, your weight should be in the 130-170 range to be considered healthy. Granted the BMI is not an ideal index as it doesn't take into account body composition (muscle versus fat) or coincident medical conditions. But that would be your range strictly based on your height.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends on height: Hi. BMI is a measure of body habitus that is calculated using your height and weight. It does not take age (in adults) into account. So 20 years old doesn't matter. Height, however, is indispensable in calculating BMI. Therefore, in the absence of critically important information, we have no way to tell you what an average BMI for (20 yo) women is. Good luck!
Need to know: The height in order to make the estimate for weight. Feel free to repost with the additional info.
What is the I deal weight for a 5ft 5 Australian female aged 22 years old? Is BMI a good measure to rely on?
Can't tell, but...: A starting point is 130 lbs. A lot depends on a person's body build. Some are naturally very thin, others thick or big-boned, but most people are somewhere in between. "Australian" is a location, so that doesn't help either, as many different types of bodies are in Australia. BMI is helpful if a person is of average musculature. If very muscular, a perfectly fine person will have a high BMI.
I am well within BMI but my body fat percentage is higher than I would like. I am slim 54 yr old female. Work out at curves 3 times a week.
BMI & % Body Fat: Your absolute body weight includes lean muscle, body fat and water. Changing your "body composition" is more important than just losing weight. Exercising three times a week will maintain your current body composition, but is not sufficient to change it. Strength training in a progressive manner 4-5 times per week, will increase lean muscle mass and decrease your percent body fat!
I'm 19 female n obesed 85kg 5.2ft height am I in danger? Have not any problem with heath right now? 34.3 bmi
Some problems: The biggest problem now, might be injury to your knees and ankles. Your joints are not made to support the extra weight and they will be damaged over time. Other things that might happen in the near future, include high blood pressure and type ii diabetes. Most problems from being overweight happen over years.

I'm 5'6 105 pounds 27 years old female with hypothyroid. Bmi is 16. I know im thin but I don't feel unhealthy. Should I be more concerned?
Need to be very: Aware you could be at health risks like a decreased immune system and hormone dysregulation. But like many things in life, you may actually be fine, just as a subpopulation of overweight patients actually do fine too. Everyone's body tolerates weight levels different and there are people who do fine at the extremes.
Been obese since highschool. I'm for sure not a big eater, even smaller portion than a small-sized lady. But I still have BMI over 35.What's wrong?
Remember: The determinations of someone's overall weight is complicated. While part of the component is how much you are taking in caloric wise, the other part is based on how active you are physical but also how active you are metabolically. Some people have slower metabolisms than others, which means they have to be very careful about their intake and activity levels.See 1 more doctor answer

Weight recommends: Are general. Around a 100 pounds if really petite. 110 pounds is spot on. Up to 121 is within range. However if you are muscular or have large bone structure you could weight more ; be just fine.See 1 more doctor answer
