Is this BMI too low ?
What is considered anorexia BMI?

No: As long you are in good health, performing your daily activities, not obsessed with your weight, it is okay. You will gain weight, as you age, do not get too worked up if your BMI goes up to 20 or so. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

I am gaining weight after anorexia for the past month (BMI reaching 17 after being at 15). Any chance I could build up muscle? If so, how can I do it?

Requires using them: Muscle cells respond to both intensity & frequency of use. Without use the atrophy away, as in polio victims. Polio virus damage nerves, not muscles. But if muscles get no nerve orders, they rarely contract & waste away. Thus focus on all opportunities to use muscles to do actions which require/challenge your strength, hopefully without overdoing & creating damage. Athletes say: No Pain, No Gain. ...Read more

Relapsed w/ purging anorexia 6/21&22. See psychiatrist in 3 weeks & should tell him; but i don't want to stop. What will happen if i tell him? Bmi = 24.

Anorexia: I think you would feel better if you saw a mental health professional weekly for psychoterapy in addition to psychiatrist. It is common to not want to stop but think of this compulsion as an addiction that will compromise your life drastically if you continue.
