Blind spot in center of vision and then patches of prisms? Aura?

Blind spot in center of vision and then patches of prisms? Aura?

??: Need a little more info about your question. I assume you're saying you have a blind spot centrally and your seeing scintillating light peripherally--typically lasting about 15 minutes, not usually associated with any other symptoms. Sounds like an acephalic migraine or ocular migrains, without headache, sometimes described as auras. Central blindspot is concerning though. See your eyemd.

Blind spot in center of vision--went away after few minutes. Should I have called eye doctor?

Probably not: Depends on your age. I would see one to make sure nothing funny going on, especially if you are older or have medical problems. In a young healthy patient, it's usually migraine.

I have a blurry spot in my vision. It's a constant spot and doesn't change positions. What could it be?

Retina?: A small fixed blurry spot in the vision usually represents a macular problem in the retina. Sometimes, this is just a benign process but it's a good idea to get it checked out. There can be swelling like in serous chorioretinopathy or an early macular hole. See your ophthalmologist soon.

Just had green spot flash for1/2sec bit smaler than size of o in central vision while workin on laptop low brigthness. Never had this before. Normal?

Watch and wait: Once episode of flash is not a cause for concern. Should it recur, it would be prudent to see an ophthalmologist. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. Practice safe sex.

How do I find out if I have a blind spot in my central vision?

Amsler gird: There is a gird with central black dot that is called amsler grid. You can down load an app, search online or ask you doc for it. You test one eye at a time look straight at the center dot and make sure you can see all the grid lines surrounding of it. You can also tell while you are reading if you are missing letters or word from the line.

Shooting pain on one spot on my head that comes out of nowhere and at the same time my vision gets blurry. Wasn't injured so what can be causing this?

Hard to say: The usual question that people are concerned about is whether this might be a manifestation of a brain tumor or an aneurysm. This is not the usual presentation for these entities. However, it is a good idea to observe this and take notes that you can present to your doctor to help him/her figure this out. The nature of the pain, the blurred vision-what brings it on, how long does it last etc.?

Upon waking or opening my eyes, I see a small transparent red spot in the center of my vision lasting 1-2 seconds. Should I be concerned?

Red spot noticeable: It is not common to see a red spot when you awaken. And if you see any red or pink spots, you should go to your eye doctor and have it examined. Through a dilated fundoscopic examination, they can pinpoint what is causing it, and what needs to be done, or if it just needs to be monitored. Yes, be concerned, and get a second opinion if you need to.

I have a small blurry spot in my vision that stays in the same spot. Saw an ophthalmologist who said my eyes were healthy. Should I seek 2nd opinion?

Second Opinion Help: If you still see a spot in your vision and are were not given a answer that you feel explains why you have the spot, I would recommend a second opinion. Knowledge is power.

Is the blind or gray spot from macula degeneration always in dead center of vision or can they be off-center?

Is the blind or gray spot from macula degeneration always in dead center of vision or can they be off-center?

Exactness: Only the devices used by professionals can measure the exact area of disease, but I expect it may not always be 'dead center'. Have a good exam by an opthamologist. Best wishes!

Hello Doctor, Since few days I have some head vertigo and spot headache during the day on the entire head and sometimes my vision gets blurry.

Needs to be checked: Headache, Vertigo and Blurred vision can be due to Neurological problem. We don't have enough information to suggest what it may be. I suggest you see your Doctor asap and if can not get appt. Go to ER. Need detailed history and comprehensive exam. And if indicated may need a Cat Scan to make a diagnosis and appropriate treatment

There's a small bright spot around the center of my vision. Could my congested nose and sinus problems be the cause?

There's a small bright spot around the center of my vision. Could my congested nose and sinus problems be the cause?

Not sinus related: It is very doubtful that this is related to congestion or sinus problems. Instead, it may be a retinal problem, or may be a visual migraine if the symptoms lasted only a few minutes. If the symptoms are persisting, see an eye doctor to rule out vision threatening problems.

Eye visit: Any fixed black spot in your central vision that does not resolve indicates an eye problem requiring prompt examination. With eye pain, could have some kind of optic neuritis, otherwise could have some retinal disorder.

Have a thorough eval: Good evening. Because the possibilities are numerous, you should really contact your doctor for further eval. Several causes readily come to mind (like a transient ocular migraine), but there are many other possibilities such as a problem with the circulation to your retina. Please contact your doctor. Best of luck.

Go to ER: What you described is compatible with temporal arteritis and you should visit an emergency room at the earliest to protect your vision, just in case it is temporal arteritis.

Temporary blurry vision with blind spot in right eye?

Temporary blurry vision with blind spot in right eye?

See an eye MD: It might be nothing or something as simple as a migraine. But it also could represent a blocked blood vessel that supplies the eye (almost like a mini stroke). You need to see an ophthalmologist who will determine whether any additional testing is required.
