Not necessarily: Although nobody will be able to 100% counter your hypothesis to;; you're tested by MRI & examined neurologically- the first thing I think of when someone says they feel a "hotflash" is something hormonal not demyelinating. But again, who knows? I agree your symptoms warrant an examination. Why not start there and leave the diagnosis for when all the testing is in and you've been seen? Good luck. ...Read more

Temple pain and blurred vision with headaches for 16 days. Hot compress feels good makes vision much worse. Why?
Heat slows nerves: Please get an eye exam if not done already. Tough to answer not knowing the cause of the headaches. So please see your doctor to make sure you do not have a condition called optic neuritis. ...Read more

Astigmatism: Astigmatism is due to the shape of the eye and is usually present at a young age. This problem sounds more acute to me and I would seek the advise of an ophthamologist at this point. You need a good retinal exam to rule out why the outside corner of the eye is blurred. The fact that you have flashing lights is a retinal symptom and not astigmatism. You may have a retinal tear or detachment and this should be checked asap. It might be vitrerous floaters which is a benign condition, but this is not astigmatism. Ask your gp for the name of a general ophthalmogist and when you call alert the staff to your symptoms. Best of luck. ...Read more
