Blurred Vision After Cataract Surgery Reasons
I have developed a relevant increase in myopia and a blurred vision due to light sensitivity 3 days after cataract surgery. What can be the reasons?
Not uncommon: The eye is in the early healing stages and is usually accompanied by some inflammation. Post op eye drops help. A very red eye and or pain would be reasons for concern. Any severe decrease in vision would be a reason for concern - and reason to see your surgeon.See 1 more doctor answer
Occurs whent here is a clouding (or change in protein composition) of the normally clear lens (which is located behind the pupil and iris) inside the eye. Cataracts are most commonly due to aging, but can be congenital (born with it), due to trauma or uveitis (eye inflammation). Can be worsened by long-term topical steroid ...Read more
Post Cat Surgery: VA: Common Post Cataract Surgery Issues: need for glasses still for residual astigmatism/refractive error; need YAG laser due to PCO (Posterior Capsular Opacification: happens in 10-25% of patients): YAG laser helps decrease glare/streaks of light patients notice from PCO; more info at: eyedoc2020@blogspot. I have double vision after cataract surgery in both eyes - why? My dr. Has tried laser surgery to correct this, still have double vision.
Double vision: Double vision after cataract surgery can be caused by many issues such as residual refractive error, eye misalignment, corneal irregularity, decentration or tilt of lens implants, retinal swelling, or other issues. See your eye doctor to determine the cause and initiate appropriate treatment.See 2 more doctor answers
How long will it take to recover from cataract surgery? I'm afraid of suffering from vision loss after cataract surgery. How long will it take until I can see clearly again? Will my vision always be a little blurry or will I have to wear glasses after the
Vision & Catarac: Vision usually decreases with cataract formation; Depending on pre-operative risk factors (ie, hypertension, diabetes, pseudoexfoliation, trauma, etc) the vast majority of patients achieve 20/20 vision after cataract surgery (low risk factor patients). Most patients say colors are brighter after VA much better. More info at: eyedoc2020 blogspot comSee 1 more doctor answer
Get examined: See your eye doctor. It might be something simple like a refraction (need for new glasses or contacts), posterior capsular opacity (needing a quick yag capsulotomy laser in the office to clear up the lens in your eye), or, something more serious like a retinal problem.See 1 more doctor answer
Double vision: Double vision after cataract surgery can be due to: imbalance of refraction (glasses rx) or eye muscles between eyes; uncovering of misalignment of eyes from youth/birth; if injection used before surgery, can rarely be from eye muscle damage. New eye glasses Rx helps in most cases depending on cause & severity. Majority resolve in >1mo. See eyedoc2020.blogspot. ComSee 2 more doctor answers
5 years after cataract surgery. Shld I do something? Anything to worry abt? It's been 2 yrs since my last checkup. Not much changes with vision.
Absolutely yes!: There are many silent causes of blindness that can occur months to years after cataract surgery, and you should have annual dilated ophthalmological examinations. You can't be certain that your eyes are healthy just because you think that your vision is unchanged.See 2 more doctor answers
Will intense computer work in the days after cataract surgery negatively impact my final vision? I feel I have lost slight distance acuity from this.
No effect: Computer use does not harm the eyes nor does it change eye power. It is fatiguing and drying but these are momentary and no permanent changes.
Could I have the wrong grad iol after cataract surgery my vision 20/25 in that eye, before that I had a retina detachment 8 mnts ago too?
Is it normal to have retinal swelling and corneal abrasion after cataract surgery? I'm 54 had lasik in left eye 3/30/05 no problems good results. Had cataract surgery on 4/21/11 vision 20/200 swelling retina 350 micron with wrinkles and severe corneal abr
Perhaps: Corneal abrasion at the time of cataract surgery can happen, but it is very rare. Certain conditions can increase the incidence (dry eyes, blepharitis, even previous lasik). The retinal swelling also is somewhat rare to the level you are describing, but it too still happens. Conditions like diabetes, uveitis history, and pre-existing wrinkling of the retina (epiretinal membrane) increase risk.See 4 more doctor answers
