Blue Star Ointment
Blue Star is: Camphor and lard. I don't see how either of those things would get rid of a fungus. If you know you have a fungus, use an otc anti-fungal product like lotrimin, Lamisil or tinactin (tolnaftate) 2x / day for at least 30 days. Your fungus will clear up in 3-5 days, but since fungal spores live 30 days, you need to use it that long or it'll recur. ...Read more
My 4 yro has ringworm under his chin. I've been using blue star ointment on it but do I have to take him to doctors or can I continue the ointment?
My son has had ringworm for 4 days. I have been putting blue star ointment on and it's just getting red...I do see any healing. Am I doing everything right and just need to be patient?
Use lotrimin (clotrimazole): Blue star ointment has camphor and salicylates as its main ingredients. The fact that spot is getting redder suggests that ointment is irritating it more. U shd try an over the counter anti- fungal cream like lotrimin (clotrimazole) and see if that makes a difference in 5-7 days. It shd make it appear lighter. If it does not then u shd see ur doctor to see if it is fungal or not. ...Read more

Does bioderm ointment expire? If yes, please help me find the expiration date on the bottle. I can't see it.

Perhaps going to a store and looking at all the other creams to see what are typical expiration dates can help a person decide when to throw away the bioderm. Of course, if the bioderm looks, smells, or feels different than when new, it's best to throw it out. ...Read more
Depends: "Jock itch" is not a diagnosis and there are a variety of different conditions which may lead to genital itch. Treatment depends on the diagnosis. A dermatologist will help you.
