You : You should take your daughter to her doctor - she might have ringworm on her scalp. Ringworm is actually caused by a fungus (not a worm) and usually looks like a dry, slightly raised, red, flaky ring. It can be harder to see on the scalp. Ringworm on the body is typically treated with an antifungal cream, but ringworm of the scalp infects the hair follicles making it harder to treat. In : In that age group, this could be several conditions, including possibly ringworm of the scalp, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff), or eczema. Given her age, it is important to rule out ringworm (fungal infection) of the scalp. I would recommend that you see a dermatologist who can perform a fungal culture and start anti-fungal therapy if appropriate. To treat the other conditions such as psoriasis or seborrhea, you can continue the same but could also try adding Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo to your regimen since it is also helpful in preventing spread of fungal infections. I hope that helps! ...Read more

My fiance hurt his wrist at work looks like a vein xploded swollen large dark blue spot on wrist should we be concerned about the bleeding under skin?

Treat symptomaticly: Injuries to the soft tissues of the body below the skin cause swelling and can also cause the veins in the skin below the injury to bleed. This is what causes the area to become black and blue. Over about a week the body reabsorbs the blood, the swelling subsides and the area heals. The initial treatment is ice to the injured area, elevation and compression usually with an ace wrap. ...Read more

I have 3 blue spots under my skin one on my arm on outer thigh and on buttock they are sore when pressed on been there for years what could they be ?

Many things: Acute or sudden blue painful spots can be due to bruising. They can come from systemic issues ( like liver, etc), hemaniomas and other things both "bad and not so bad". Not i would still get them checked out. ...Read more
