Blue Discoloration Of The Chin
So my under lip on the left side feels a bit numb going to my chin. And it shows a black/blue discoloration. It also feels a bit tingly. What is this?
Mystery: The numbness indicate a nerve involvement. The location indicates a facial nerve involvement. The discoloration indicates internal bleeding that rarely happen spontaneously unless you are on a major blood thinner. Most likely indicates trauma. This is an unusual: Symptom; these phenomena would not usually occur together. The main thing that might cause this is a TMJ (temporomandibular joint) problem. This jaw hinge joint commonly can get a little "out of whack" and not function properly. Taking anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, etc), applying ice or heat are first steps.
