Infant had fever about 2 days up to 102.7 finally broke on day 2 but now has rash on head chest back and cries almost constantly?

Common patters: A lot of infant viral infections will have fever for a few days and end in a generalized rash. Some have names based on location and type of rash, but they are expected and rather benign. I'd consider the crying evidence it is not finished. As long as the kid takes fluids well and plays occasionally you can monitor at home. If not drinking the kid should be seen. ...Read more

Red rashes on the face and head only of 11 month old baby boy after sun exposure on the beach temporal temperature is 36.6 and very alert pls. Advise.

Sounds like sunburn: A baby gets sunburn very easily. Even on a cloudy day, it is possible to get a sunburn, because uv light penetrates through clouds. I would strongly recommend to keep babies in a shade, not directly expose to any sunlight. A baby gets sunstroke more easily than older children as well. ...Read more

What do you suggest if my child is 14 months old she has a rash from head to toe?

What do you suggest if my child is 14 months old she has a rash from head to toe?

Take her to a doctor: If the rash bothers her, I would suggest that she be seen by a doctor. There are so many reasons that a 14 mo old girl would have a rash. The list includes infection (both viral, bacterial), inflammatory disease such as rheumatoid arthritis, allergy (such as hives), drug rash (such as amoxicillin), contact dermatitis such as poison ivy, skin disease such as eczema, etc. The treatment differs. ...Read more

Hi my baby is 6 weeks old she has a rash on her face, head and chest for a week now she also has cradle cap is this normal? How do I alleviate it?

Is it the same rash?: Cradle cap can extend down to the face, neck, and chest. There are some non-prescription remedies such as selenium-based shampoos (don't get it in her eyes!), but other treatments require a doctor visit. Either way, be patient - there's no reason why she can't have beautiful baby skin after this clears up. ...Read more

Should I stop giving my baby his antibotics for scratchy sounding throat and slight outbreak of rash on head?

Should I stop giving my baby his antibotics for scratchy sounding throat and slight outbreak of rash on head?

Yes: The antibiotic (especially amoxicillin) may be the cause for the rash or the rash may be from a viral infection which is also causing the scratchy throat. Antibiotic does nothing for a viral infection and excessive use has led to bacteria resistant to nearly all antibiotics. ...Read more

Avoid touching your much. Wash with gentle cleanser (Dover, Cetaphil). Avoid skin products with alcohol. My baby boy, 9months old, suddenly got a rash on his head today. It is red and blister like only in his hair. Looks itchy. What clould it be?

Without seeing it: It will be difficult to diagnose for sure, but it could be eczema, a contact rash, or an infection. I would recommend that you have him seen by a doctor to be properly diagnosed and treated. If you have Prime on HealthTap, you could also consult with us that way, so we could actually see the rash. ...Read more

Neck and chest and left side of head itch no swollen or rash help please??? sleep on furry pillows and use baby lotion and wash with dove and nivea

Skin irritation: Focalized itching without rash is rarely due to underlying organ disease. I suspect skin irritation (sun coming through car window, the furry pillow, etc). Try changing both the pillow and the lotion. Rec fragrance-free non-alcohol containing lotion such as Vanicream, Eucerin or CeraVe. Use 2-3 times daily and always after bathing. ...Read more

Hi I have these tiny white spots almost looks like a rash all over my penis head and some on shaft, it's not ppp, it looks like tysons glands.
