Yes: A little bit of blood tinged stuff or small blood clots can be expected in the 1st couple of weeks. But if you suffer from profuse bleeding , contact the surgeon immediately. More info needed: Are you coughing? Are you coughing up any blood or are you seeing blood streaked mucus (from irritation). You should gargle with some warm salt water and increase your clear fluids. Get examined: Have a chest x-ray to be checked for lung infection . Ask your dr if s/he would recommend antibiotics.
