I am on warfarin.What blood thinning foods should I avoid? I know vit k thickens the blood.Was never told what thinning foods to avoid.
Take Vit K with Warf: I'm not a fan of warfarin because nearly every food, drug ; herb affects it, making its effects very variable. It's not that vit k "thickens blood"- it's needed for blood to clot; warfarin works by inhibiting it, but blocking vit k increases risk of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis ; maybe cancer- better to take some k ; adjust warfarin dose accordingly- this improves outcomes! see comment:. ...Read more

Maybe nothing.: Elevated B12 levels usually are of no significance. The usual cause in a diet high in b12. A pathologic reason is rare, and would typically be much higher. The PTT of 35 seconds is borderline high, and might still be normal, or could be indicative of a mild inherited or acquired bleeding disorder.
