Blood Test Tsh High Sensitivity
Hypothyroid: A high TSH is consistent with primary hypothyroidism. You should have a free T4 level done. Lh is unrelated to thyroid. A low level could be related to medications, such as an oral contraceptive or other estrogen usage (or testosterone in a male). If your periods are regular, it is likely a lab error. ...Read more

Remember: Hyperthyroidism - which appears to be the case with based on your biochemical studies - can present with a spectrum of symptoms. Normal tsh..T4 is high .Retake blood test again still high ..Retake it again ..Now its normal. Why is that?
Lab values vary: Lab values can vary (assuming there has been no change in a patient's status nor medications). That is why lab results are "just numbers", and one should see the doctor for an interpretation of the numbers. Sometimes, 3 tests are done to see if 2 of the 3 results will match closely. A doctor may know if certain lab locations or lab companies tend to "run high" or "run low" on their results. ...Read more
I was taking fluoxetine from 15 to 20 years and after a blood test i have high tsh and bilirrubin levels?
TSH: TSH is the level of thyroid stimulating hormone, and if it is elevated means that you have hypothyroidism. Your physician should study other hormone levels and the gland itself by ultrasound or CT Scan to determine the cause. Bilirubin is a byproduct of hemoglobin produced by the liver. These two levels being affected may not have anything to do with your intake of fluoxetine. ...Read more
I was taking fluoxetine from 15 to 20 years and after a blood test i have high tsh and bilirrubin levels. i want to know how this can affect my.
Does HIGH mean BAD?: Please explain to me if you believe HIGH means BAD in your case or ABNORMAL? I don't see how those 2 numbers BY THEMSELVES can have a direct connection to your taking fluoxetine. If TSH is abnormally high many other tests should be affected. You have to be careful about overestimating isolated laboratory values. I have hypothyroidism and im on Synthroid 137 mcg 1/2 tab daily. My last blood test showed... TSH: 0.89, Free T4: 1.9. Is this to high?
It's OK: Hi. That TSH and free T4 are OK. The free T4 is just barely above the upper end of normal in most labs, and your TSH is fine. If you feel normal, there'd be no compelling reason to lower your dose. If you feel hyperthyroid in any way, you could try a lower dose. I'd repeat those labs in 2 months to assess stability. Good luck! ...Read more
