Thick blood , high inflammation levels abnormal liver function in all 3 blood tests, test back pos for blood clot on lung after dye test, back neg?

Thick blood , high inflammation levels abnormal liver function in all 3 blood tests, test back pos for blood clot on lung after dye test, back neg?

This is serious: I trust the dye test was a pulmonary angiogram that demonstrated a pulmonary thromboembolus, and it has also been determined that you have hypercoagulable blood. This is a major problem that will require work with your primary care physician and probably long-term medical management -- more than healthtap can do. Hope you do not smoke. The "inflammation" & liver labs need to be addressed in time. ...Read more

9 positive preg tests followed instructions exact neg blood test 2 weeks ago just repeated the blood test whats the chances of 9 tests being wrong ?

9 positive preg tests followed instructions exact neg blood test 2 weeks ago just repeated the blood test whats the chances of 9 tests being wrong ?

Depends: How many days after the hpt was the blood test done? If it was two weeks after the positive hpt, it is could be that an early pregnancy was lost spontaneously. However, from what you described you did not have a period between the positive hpt and negative blood test. As I may have stated earlier, I would question the technique of doing the hpt. ...Read more

How accurate is triple AFP test for down syndrome?

How accurate is triple AFP test for down syndrome?

Not very.: The triple screen will detect about 70% of mothers carrying babies with down syndrome, but it is only a screening test and does not diagnose down syndrome. There are many false positive tests ("abnormal" tests in women who are carrying babies that do not have down syndrome). A newer blood test for fetal dna in the mother's blood can actually diagnose down syndrome in women who are at higher risk. ...Read more

How accurate is 3 week ELISA blood tests on hiv? Elisa test is the newest HIV detection test?

How accurate is 3 week ELISA blood tests on hiv? Elisa test is the newest HIV detection test?

Very accurate: The elisa assay is one of the longest standing tests for antibodies to hiv. Positive results must be confirmed using western blot or other tests. If negative at 3 wks you should be retested at 3 and 6 months to be absolutely certain, but those latter tests are rarely positive if the 3 wk test was negative. Be safe. Have only protected sex until both partners assuredly negative, and monogamous. ...Read more

Can exercising before blood test affect results? Fbc, lymphocyte flow studies, esr, crp, LFT, lipase, amylase? Can exercise before test make feel ill?

Exercise: As a boon to long term health, exercise has value. But normal ranges for almost all lab tests are established on resting individuals. Some values are known to go up (such as some liver functions) while others may vary depending on the intensity and degree of dehydration. Abnormals should be treated cautiously and perhaps repeated without the prior activity. ...Read more
