10 hour fast blood sugar 100, 12 hour fast 90, post prad 1.5 hour 130, usally reach 85 level 6 hour after meal, why 10 hour fast high then 12 hour norm
Glucose values: I would not obsess over fasting glucose of 90 vs 100. The 2 hr difference in length of fast is not very important. If the glu is less than 140 at 2 hr after 75 g of glucose intake, that is normal. Overall, you seem to have normal glucose values. If you are at risk for diabetes, a Hgb A1C may be a better test to follow. ...Read more
My 14 hour fasting blood sugar came back 90 isn't that high for 14 hour fasting? 3 hour after meal was 114.
The values you provided are both normal. Just because you fasted more than 8 hours would not reduce blood glucose further.

Unknown: A 150 mg/dl blood sugar after a meal could be ok if it was less than 2 hours after a meal and went below 140 by the time 2 hours passed. This, however, is based on lab glucose values. Home glucometers can be off by a significant amount so a 150 could be either higher or lower. If you suspect you are at risk for diabetes please see your doctor. ...Read more

My fasting blood sugar checked daily is in 140s but my after meal and random numbers are all normal. My last a1c was 6.4. why high fasting?
Need for glucose:
Tolerance test. Repeat fasting glucose of 140 is considered diagnostic of diabetes. A1c is not a sensitive marker for diabetes. If you have doubts, you may get a glucose tolerance test, however, it would be prudent to alter your diet and life style in keeping a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. Exercising and losing about 10% of body weight may stabilize the disease. Consult this site for info:
