I feel I have phlegm in the throat for 3 months, sputum occasionally, mostly in the morning. I had a blood stained sputum today, what could it be?

Follow up/more info: You should see your physician if you have sputum with blood. If it is more than a scant amount, the Emergency room can evaluate.
