Blood Pressure Pre Hypertension
Had a big meal and its been 7 hours since and istill feel full. Blood pressure is in pre-hypertension since. Usually its optimal range. Why is this?
It's OK: Remember, your blood pressure naturally rises and falls throughout the day, so the concern is when you have persistent elevations over time (days - weeks) or severe fluctuations with high readings. Always follow up with your doctor about your particular pattern. The fullness after your meal may be related to the kind of food that you ate but you may have a gastrointestinal issue. See your doc!! ...Read more
A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure and a diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure the blood exerts on the vessels when the heart is beating. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the vessels in between heartbeats. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, begins when the systolic blood pressure remains above 140 or when the diastolic blood pressure remains above 90. Hard to say: In this country and much of the world blood pressure is measured in mm of mercury and a common blood pressure in a 16 yo would be 110/70. Since you quote measurements in a system that has no meaning to me I cannot make a reasoned answer. Try to review your data and see if you have left something out. You are free to start over. Daily activities; eating, walking raise blood pressure. When/How many times a day should blood pressure be taken for hypertension diagnosis purposes?
Simple is better: Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain, and less salt.
