Mysterious blood appearing on pillow when I wake up now and then. Today a splotch about 1 in x 1 in. Should I be concerned?
Nosebleeds: Are you sure the blood isn't coming from your nose. Nosebleeds can definitely occur insidiously at night. I would encourage you to take a look with a mirror in your nose and mouth(though it's unlikely from your mouth as you would often see saliva too). Bleeding gums?: This usually means bleeding gums, so your first move should be to see a dentist. If gum inflammation doesn't explain it, your nose and sinuses are the next most likely possibility. No association: Strep pneumoniae is a normal bacterium in the environment and carried by healthy people.
