Can fingering trigger an abnormal pap test? The result I had was endometrial cells found at cervix.
Had a pap smear on day 10 of menstration. Pap came back normal but shows endometrial cells on uterine lining. What does this mean? Going for a biopsy.
Likely okay: Typically, unless a woman is having irregular bleeding, endometrial cells on a pap aren't worrisome at all. That's based on a new recommendation for pap smear management. If you have irregular or heavy bleeding, doctor will want to rule out pre-cancer as cause, hence, biopsy of uterine lining. No harm in biopsy. Your doctor knows you best, so be sure to ask him/her why they have concerns for biops. ...Read more

Can a pap miss adenocarcinoma? Concerned because of watery discharge, pelvic and back pain. Pap normal, hpv positive.
Yes, rare..., but...: On PAP smear does offer 100% guaranty for not having cancer of cervix since, in life reality, no test has ever yielded 100% of sensitivity or specificity. But coupling (-)-yielded PAP with watery discharge would reasonably sate you have no cervical cancer because recurrent post-coital bloody discharge has been more common. Ask your gyn or PCP if you need to repeat in 6-12 months. ...Read more
Normal Pap test results STD and STI tests negative. No pain during sex. Still have small amounts of blood after intercourse????
Blood=tissue damage: Any active non-menstrual bleeding/spotting you have after intercourse would reflect some type of injury to tissues exposed to the mechanical forces involved. You might see a small bleeding site with a close self exam (lighted mirror) or a doc could locate the site. If it is minimal and you keep the areas clean it will likely stop.If you are soaking pads you need to be evaluated. ...Read more
See below.: Normally not. However, if you are older with vaginal thinning and decreased secretions - that can make the tissue friable. If you are younger and the vaginal vault is tight - there could be some trauma with introduciton of the speculum. Can a pap smear turn out abnormal (atypical epithelial cells, neg hpv) if I just had miscarriage 3 weeks before?
Are light periods a sign of pregnancy? Blood stays inside vagina. Happening last 3 months. Got 10 negative hpt and blood test
Tests are accurate: Pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done correctly, a negative test result means not pregnant regardless of vaginal spotting or "light periods". ...Read more
