Hi I received a urinalysis test result with abnormal +2 ketones, +1 blood, 2+ leukocyte esterase, and above high normal 2+ WBC. No bacteria seen. ?

Urinalysis: The ketones may have been because you were fasting when collecting the urine, or perhaps you are diabetic and blood sugar not in good control. The leukocytes were probably from vaginal secretions unless you had a clean assisted midstream catch urine. You do not say if you have any symptoms. Lab values without a clinical context are not very valuable. ...Read more

Bacteria was positive in my blood, leukocyte esterase was positive, WBCS was 5-9hpf, and I am experiencing flank pain. Is this a possible kidney infe?

Yes: Bacteria in the blood requires antibiotics, usually by IV infusion. WBC's in the urine with flank pain and a positive blood culture implies pyelonephritis (kidney infection) which should be treated in the hospital. Lack of treatment can result in permanent damage to the kidney. ...Read more

Had urinalysis. Leukocyte+1 blood trace, rbc 1-5, wbc, 1-5, epithelial **, bacteria few, urine comment yeast. What does this all ,mean no symptoms.?

Contaminated urine: This goes along with your culture result: a urine specimen contaminated with vaginal fluid. It means nothing. If you have symptoms, discuss them with your doctor -- but this urine specimen doesn't say anything about the cause. ...Read more

Occult blood 3+,protein 2+,rbc 20-40, wbc packed,leukocyte esterase 3+,bacteria few,squamous epithelial cells 6-10. All else Norm.What does this mean.

Probable UTI: "All else normal"?? What's left? That's most of the urinalysis. It strongly suggests you have a urinary tract infection. It could be an STD, if at risk, but less likely. Certain non-infectious kidney diseases could cause these things. But UTI is by far the best bet. Discuss with the doctor who ordered the test; probably you need an antibiotic prescription. ...Read more

Urinalysis showed 2+ occult blood occ. bacteria, moderate mucus 0 WBC what could this be male?

Need follow up: The doctor who ordered the urinalysis should follow up. If the UA was part of a routine visit & you have no urinary symptoms the urine culture is a good idea to check the bacteria issue. The 2+ blood should be evaluated with radiological study, preferably CT scan of abdomen & pelvis with contrast, for your peace of mind because there are many causes for blood on UA. Other test may be needed. ...Read more

No symptoms of UTI u/s color yellow, clea,r *few bacteria RBC h 24 no WBC blood moderate does this mean cancer?

No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, blood in urine is something that needs to be looked at. If you were menstruating at the time of the test, first thing to do would be to repeat the test when you are not bleeding. ...Read more

I am on meds for uti, traces of protein, ketones, blood, leukocytes and bacteria, no nitrites. Wbc of 13. I thought UTI have nitrites. History of urt's?

Test Reliability: While every test can have falsely negative results, there can well be infection that may never show nitrites. Staph and enterococcus, common UTI pathogens, do not show up positive. The test is positive when available nitrates are converted to nitrites, which the test detects. Gram negative bacteria, such as e. Coli, klebsiella, proteus and enterobacter, are common UTI bugs that do convert it. ...Read more

Possible UTI.: Those results are consistent with a possible urinary tract infection. Have you been back in touch with the Doctor Who obtained the urinalysis? You certainly made the treatment. If you are getting worse and cannot reach the physician, consider the emergency room. ...Read more

Daughter 5 yrs tested for a uti all came back negative had moderate leukocyte always find white blood cells do cultures come back neg any ideas why?

YES...: Analysis of the urine can suggest infection but not confirm a UTI. Culture is best. Culture will not be positive if infection due to viruses or if inflammation is of a non infectious origin. Presence of WBCs do not always signal an infection. If your daughter has persistence of WBC especially if symptomatic I will be very glad to help you troubleshoot that.
Take care! ...Read more

Are my Urinalysis results a cause for concern? Under blood it says Large, Urobilinigen .02 and Leukocyte Esterase small. Im 27 weeks pregnant.

Recheck URINALYSIS: If your repeat urinalysis still shows "large blood", your obstetrical team will want to find out about possible lower abdominal trauma, recent sexual activities....check your urine culture to rule out an asymptomatic urinary tract infection and possibly refer you to a urologist . Do request a follow up evaluation and get reassured. ...Read more

Leukocyte esterase, ua my results were large. It also said "does not show any significant bacterial infection". Am i ok? Or do I need a 2nd opinion?

Culture that urine. : A urinalysis (ua) cannot always identify the presence of bacteria or an infection. Although leukocytes can be present in the urine from other non-infectious causes, an infection should always be considered, and only a urine culture can diagnose or exclude an infection. ...Read more

Labs: Hello, you dont state what is being checked specifically, but this looks like urine that has been contaminated with a vaginal discharge ( leuk est+1, squam epi mod and few RBCs) and blood test with CRP (slight elevation) and GFR is reduced but within normal range. I would repeat UA if you have symptoms and get CLEAN CATCH! thanks ...Read more

Uriine-urythocytes high, ketones 20,leukocyte esters large, leukocytes 40, nitrates positive. In blood-leukocytes high, urea nitrogen low. Am i dying?

You have a uti: when a urinalysis shows large Leukocytes and nitrites positive you have a urinary tract infection and need antibiotics pending the culture report. On your blood test, you said leukocytes high which indicates infection. if you have fever and chills and back pain, could be kidney infection and may need treatment at Emergency Room now. You are not dying, but need urgent treatment ...Read more

Reverse T3 (liothyronine): Check free T3 and reverse t3. Ft3 should be in upper range and rt3 in lower range. If your ratio is off, you may need Armour Thyroid or t3, and synthroid (thyroxine) would be the wrong med for you. Also consider checking thyroid antibodies. ...Read more

Trace amounts of blood in urine. No bacteria or WBC. Should I be concerned?

You are just 31: It is abnormal to have blood in the urine unless of course you are on your period. There are times when one has blood and there is no reason found. But you do need to be evaluated. First you need to hydrate well then give another urinevsample to see if the blood is gone. ...Read more

Was a culture done: Becasue all you told me was that you had a urinalysis which the one you described may not even be an infection, you must do a culture and sensitivity to see if u do have an infection and what type it is and it will say which antibiotics should work, if u keep having sxs then u need to see a urologist. ...Read more

I just got urine results back, do they indicate that I have a bladder infection?RBC 11-25, WBC 6-10, Bacteria 65, Protein trace, Blood trace.

Possible UTI: These findings could indicate a urinary tract (bladder) infection (UTI), especially if you have painful urination and frequent or urgent urination. However, it could be something else, e.g. chlamydia or other STD if at risk. You'll need to see a doctor (or perhaps use HealthTap Concierge) for professional diagnosis and probably an antibiotic prescription. Don't try to treat yourself. ...Read more
