Hematuria: The work up should inculde a Urinalysis with C&S, CT Urogram (to assess the whole collecting system including the kidneys and ureters and bladder and Urethra), and finally a Cystoscopy which will asses the superior aspect of the Bladder that may not be completely visualized on the CT Urogram. If all these tests come back normal, may be simple irritation of the urethra or somewhere else to monitor. ...Read more

Don't worry too much: Less than 4 red blood cells per high power field is normal.I suspect your test showed more than this as you had an ultrasound and CT done.**Your physician may want you to have a cystoscopy to look into your bladder,however bladder cancer would be very unlikely due to your age and lack of gross(visible)blood in your urine.If renal function is normal and no proteinuria would recheck U/A yearly. ...Read more

I think: I think you mean he had a low grade blad tumor. He will need periodic cystoscopy to check for recurrent tumors. Every 3 mth for the first yr.If no recurrence,every 6 months for 2 more years. If no recurrence,annually thereafter. Kidney pelvis(both) and ureters will be checked with CT-IVP with contrast once yrly bec the lining epithelium is same as the bladder epithelium.
