Good hand washing: This can actually be normal. It depends on how much he is exposed to other children. Try to make sure his hands are washed well before he eats. Also when he gets i'll treat his fever and push the liquids, what ever he likes to drink. ...Read more

Mono can present as: Mono is caused by virus's-either Ebstein Barr or Ctomegalo Virus. They both can cause sore throat, fatigue, and cough. if you are still having cough, i would suggest getting that looked at again as there may be other things. Mono can and usually does suppress your immune system which can lead to other bacteria or viruses taking opportunities to flare and cause issues. ...Read more

Seek care: Could be strep and that should be treated. If it is strep and is not treated you would be at risk of getting rheumatic fever later.
