A long tube runs from the mouth to the anus. It includes, in order, the mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, ileus), caecum, the ascending, transverse, descending, and sigmoid colon (or large intestine) and the rectum. The space inside that tube , the lumen, is considered to be outside of the body. When we bleed into that space ...Read more

Past couple days having maroon blood in stool and toilet Today same thing but passed a blood clot could this be hemorrhoids?
Unlikely: Hemorrhoids usually cause bright red painless blood and not clots. Maroon blood suggests bleeding somewhere higher in the GI track. Does blood stay up in vagina after period over? Was having brown discharge ending period, in shower used powerful stream inside vagina now light blood
Not necessarily: In the normal state of things menstrual fluid will find it's way out. I don't think it wise to put a forceful steam of water into the vagina. Let nature "do its thing". The brown discharge is most likely old menstrual blood. Also at your age I hope that you are seeing your family physician or your OB/GYN periodically for routine PAP smears. ...Read more

The fissure would be painful; hemorrhoid not. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Passing blood clots during menstruation can be normal: The amount, length and frequency of menstrual bleeding vary from month to month and from woman to woman. However, passing large blood clots may be a sign that something's wrong. If your periods seem heavier than usual — for instance, soaking through one pad or tampon every hour for several hours or passing very large blood clots — check with your doctor. Your doctor can determine if there's an underlying problem causing your heavy periods. Your doctor may recommend a blood test to check for anemia, a blood condition that can cause you to feel weak or tired. Your doctor may also recommend an ultrasound of your pelvis. Sometimes hormonal medications are prescribed to help regulate heavy bleeding. ...Read more
