Parenchymal density: Is a very nonspecific term, unfortunately. It could mean anything from scar to mass to pneumonia to collapse of a small lung segment. Without the images to review, it is difficult to determine. Likewise, there are both acute and chronic causes of cystic changes. I get this recurring cough about 3 times a year. Always with phlegm, sometimes with blood (rarely). No other symptoms. I'm 21 and don't smoke.

Don't know cause.: Mix hot water, 1 tsp. Lemon juice & 1 tsp. Honey in a mug, then add more lemon juice or honey to taste, if desired. Sip the mixture slowly and inhale the steam from the hot liquid to help reduce congestion in the chest. Or make tea with 2 tsp of Marshmallow root bark per 1cup of hot water (steep in a covered pot for at least 5 minutes). Drink several times a day or as needed to relieve coughing. ...Read more

Please get checked: If you have some phlegm with blood in it, you need to see a doctor. Tuberculosis can be tricky-especially in the Philippines where there is a lot of it. Do you have any fevers? What about appetite or weight loss? Those are symptoms of TB. Sometimes TB can be resistant to medications, and I wonder if you took all the medicine you were prescribed? Hope you feel better.
