Blood In Nose Sinus Infection
I have a cold for about a 9 days. It is not going away. Green mucus from nose and throat. Blood in nose. Facial pain and cough. Sinus infection?
Good chance: After nine days and with the facial pain developing, it is certainly possible that you have a sinus infection. Even so, it is still possibly viral if you are a non-smoker. I would see your doctor or urgent care tomorrow and in the meantime, try the neti-pot or nasal saline spray, ibuprofen and dayquil/nyquil.See 2 more doctor answers

Can a sinus infection be bad enough to infect my mouth and facial bones but I don't cough or sneeze a lot, or have a fever? Bloody nose some mornings.
Usually not: This sounds like something much more than a typical sinus infection. Sounds like you need to see a doctor and possibly get a ct scan of the facial bones and/or sinus.
I have had symptoms of a sinus infection for almost a month. This morning my nose started pouring blood and I coughed up big globs of bright red blood?
Immediate evaluation: You need to be seen immediately! To to your primary care doctor or ER and get blood work, X-ray, and will most likely need a Cat Scan (CT) of your sinuses. Cancer of the sinuses needs to be ruled out versus a benign polyp vs bleeding from your nasal septum. Keep me posted.See 3 more doctor answers
Sinus infection, clear to light hint of yelow coming out of the nose when I blow it, but I have seem some chunk of of blood/or slight blood in the snot?
Can a person have a sinus infection and not really know it? I don't have running nose, but stuffy in morning with some blood and green mucus sometimes
Sinusitis?: Without knowing exactly where the blood and green mucous is emanating from it is impossible to know if you have sinusitis. This is generally clinical diagnosis made by nasality of speech, pain and swelling over the sinuses, congestion and purulent nasal discharge. There may be headache, fever and redness, but to be sure where this is coming from see a doctor. Good luck.
Small amounts of blood in mucus from right nostril only, 4 weeks, no sinus infection or runny nose, 35 yr old...should I worry about bad diagnosis?
ENT: You should be evaluated by ENT to find the cause of prolem.
I have just recovered from sinus infection. (self diagnosis) Every time I clean or touch inside my nose blood comes out. When would blood vessels heal?
Recent sinus infection caused blood in the nose and phlegm. Was prescribed doxycycline blood stopped but then reappeared. Do I need more meds?
Bloody nose: The blood is due to the erosion of small blood vessels in your nose because if the mucus. It may be dry in your house so using a humidifer or vaporizer can be helpful. Also purchase saline gel and moisturize your nostrils with the gel several times a day
Past 3 days Wake up with thick dark yellow sometimes blood tinged nasal mucus. Nose is not running. On Nasacort (triamcinolone) for 1wk. Sinus Infection? Virus?
May be normal: Sinusitis is mostly caused by viruses. There is difficulty diagnosing bacterial sinusitis by symptoms alone but if symptoms are present >10 days, fever >102 with pus for first 3-4 days of symptoms or worsening of symptoms following viral infection - you may have a bacterial infection. Be careful to use nasacort (triamcinolone) appropriately as the irritation may also cause bleeding.
This AM had a lot of thick, post nasal drip in back of throat. When I spat it out it looked like huge blood clots. What is going on? Sinus infection?
Possible: Rinse your nasal cavity with saline, several times to help clean the nasal passages and hopefully clear the sinuses openings draining into the nasal cavity, then see your doctor / ENT soon for possible need for Rx medications, best wishes
Sinus infection 2 days ago on levaquin (levofloxacin), now my eyes are blood shot, hurting, throat hurts, head hurts, dizzy! Should I go back to dr or is this ok?
Sinus infection.: This is not ok. You should definitely go back to see your doctor and should make contact as soon as possible. As soon as you are well you should find a way to stop smoking as this will cause you increasing problems and disease.
Thick yellow green and some blood in nose for a week. No headache or fever. Little pnd that causes cough. Is this sinus infection?
Sounds like it: 7-10 days of discolored drainage is typical criteria of sinus infection. Most with infection have facial pressure or pain and nasal congestion as well. Sounds like it is time to see a physician and possibly treat this with antibiotics.
It is not in the nos: Sinuses are air filled spaces that surround the nasal cavity, if infection gets in theses cavities than you have sinus infection. I f you have sinus infection you need to see your doctor to make sure you have sinus infection and if so, you will need to be treated with proper course of antibiotics. So consault your doctor.
Sinus infection: Not typically. You can, but it would be unusual. The symptoms we look for include nasal congestion, nasal discharge which is usually white, yellow, green or some other color of the rainbow. The face can hurt or there is a lot of pressure in the face (usually the forehead or cheeks). The teeth can hurt and you can develop a headache. Many people will complain of fatigue/feeling run down/fever.
Yes: The color of nasal secretions does not rule out sinusitis. Sinusitis has the following symptoms. Nasal obstruction or congestion, facial pain, pressure, or fullness, pain or pressure between the eyes and pain or pressure over the eyes. Sphenoid sinusitis may produce pain on top of the head. Although it is true that yellow-green nasal drainage is common, allergic sinusitis may have clear drainage.
I have a head cold and my nose is smelly. Should I be concerned about a possible sinus infection? It happens when I'm not sick sometimes too.
Odor from nose: Infections in this area can block secretory flow from nasal cavities leading to stagnation and the overgrowth of bacteria which have side products that smell badly. You can try nasal decongestants, especially sprays or a netty irrigation. If there is local pain, bleeding or frank pus, you should see your personal physician or an ENT doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a sinus infection and have taken clarithromycin since monday. I've started coughing up a little blood. Is this normal? Is it an emergency?
Not normal: But it may not be an emergency if it is simply a little blood tinged mucus, as it may be a simple aspect of your sinus infection/inflammation. Get checked by dr. During normal business hours in the next 24 h and you should be ok. If severe bleeding, then get urgent care.See 1 more doctor answer
