See your doctor: the black eye is generally due to superficial skin and under the skin bleeding related to an injury. However the bloody mucus suggests you may have sustained some trauma to the nasal cavity and/ sinuses. You should get it checked out. Please be careful with how you sustained the initial injury! Don't worry try Neti: But do watch for changes. It's probably surface capillaries the have been quite irritated and have broken. It should improve as you recover and you may want to use a neti pot saline wash instead of blowing. If it stays or gets worse - see your doctor. But it should heal up. Best! ...Read more

Dry air: During the colder, winter months the air both outside and inside is drier. This can lead to dry, cracked mucous membranes. A little blood occasionally when blowing your nose is nothing to worry about. If you have regular nosebleeds you should see your doctor.
