I sufferd a black eye on christmas, a few days later some blood started to apear in my mucus when I blow my nose, will this go away with time?

See your doctor: The black eye is generally due to superficial skin and under the skin bleeding related to an injury. However the bloody mucus suggests you may have sustained some trauma to the nasal cavity and/ sinuses. You should get it checked out. Please be careful with how you sustained the initial injury! Best wishes to you!

I recently had a cold I'm just starting to get over. When I blow my nose I notice blood in my mucus, should I be worried?

Don't worry try Neti: But do watch for changes. It's probably surface capillaries the have been quite irritated and have broken. It should improve as you recover and you may want to use a neti pot saline wash instead of blowing. If it stays or gets worse - see your doctor. But it should heal up. Best!

When I blow my nose some blood comes out with the mucus should I be worried? & what should I do to make it better?

Dry air: During the colder, winter months the air both outside and inside is drier. This can lead to dry, cracked mucous membranes. A little blood occasionally when blowing your nose is nothing to worry about. If you have regular nosebleeds you should see your doctor. Either way, a humidifier to keep your home around 50% humidity is recommended.

Whenver I blow my nose there's droplets of blood and bloody mucus in the tissue. Is this normal? Could it be a sign of infection or cancer?

Whenver I blow my nose there's droplets of blood and bloody mucus in the tissue. Is this normal? Could it be a sign of infection or cancer?

Probably not: Especially in dry winter air, some blood when you blow your nose can be normal. If this is unusual for you, and if you have other symptoms (congestion, fatigue, drainage, etc.), it could be a symptom of sinus infection. It would be very rare for this symptom to mean you have cancer. A simple treatment would be to start moisturizing with saline spray and a little vaseline periodically.

For a little over a week my nose has been stuffed up, and whenever I blow my nose to clear it up, it's a mixture of blood and mucus. This is only happening in one nostril. Is this a nasal inflammation or something else?

Nasal drainage: A runny nose is common with any cold. However, if there is bleeding, your nose is likely dry and you may be blowing your nose too forcefully. You are better off using a saline rinse when you feel like blowing your nose and applying a saline based gel to humidify the nose. If the symptoms persist, I recommend you see a physician.

I have a mild headache, runny nose and a cough. When I cough sometimes mucus mixed with blood comes up, and everytime I blow my nose blood comes out.

Coughing blood bad: Nose bleeds can not only drip out the front, but can also drip down the back and when that mucus is brought up it has bloody streaks. However, if the blood is truly being coughed from the lungs, it is very important to see a physician immediately for evaluation.

Dryness: And irritation. Try putting Vaseline in your nose covered by AYR saline nasal gelat night and try not to blow. It breaks small capillaries and that causes the bleed.
