Blood In 2 Year Old Stool
See ur doctor: The most common cause is hard stools causing a small tear in the anus. If he had a hard stool when u found the blood this is probably the cause. Bloody stool: Constipation & straining can cause anal fissures & hemorrhoids leading to bloody stools, but other conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, krohns disease, polyps cause rectal bleeding. You need to consult a gastroentrologist. At the mean time try to control the constipation with high fiber diet, plenty of fuids, use miralax (polyethylene glycol) or miniral oil. If the bleeding is heavy go to ER. Good luck ...Read more

I am a 42 year old female. Two weeks before my monthlyperiod, each time I pass stool, I see a lot of blood coming from my vagina. What could be the reason?
My 5 year old daughter has had blood in her stool the last two times she has gone. Recently seen family doctor and is on (generic prilosec) for ulcers?
See below: If it was bright red blood in the stool, it is not due to ulcers and Prilosec is not needed. The blood in her stool is likely due to fissures or fragile rectal tissue that bled slightly-commonly associated with harder constipation stools. Another possiblility is a soy/milk protein intolerance-enterocolitis; but rare at 5 and more common in less than 1 yr olds. Ulcer-bleeding = black tarry stools. ...Read more

2 yo gets constipated. Today half was pebbles, half not. But a small brown mucous blob. Found tiny piece glass in stool yesterday. Related? No blood.
Stools: These are often a reflection of dietary intake, but can represent inflammatory changes in the colon. This sounds like a brief normal variation but if there is persistent mucous in the stool or a suggestion of blood you should have the baby seen by the pediatrician. Try using yogurt (unpasteurized). Good luck. ...Read more
Mucus w/ little red on thermometer after take 2 yo rectal. Found tiny piece glass in stool 4d ago, related? Don't know where glass from. No other blood
Get Checked: I agree with the other answer completely. It can be normal for children to eat non-food items (a behavior called pica). But eating glass can be dangerous. And as was mentioned, checking temperature indicates some other concern. Though likely nothing serious, it's best to have a pediatrician evaluate your child. ...Read more

CONSTIPATION:: Give otc polyethylene glycol (miralax) 1-2 teaspoonful in 8-10 ounces of juice or gatorade twice daily until he gets diarrhea, then once daily. Small red spot in 2 yo diaper today. No blood in stool. Other day took rectal temp. Mucus w/ little red on it. Acting fine. Constipated often-worry?
OK unless recurring: Even if it is blood, a small amount, one event would not be anything to worry about. It could be due to the thermometer causing some mild trauma or constipation. It could also not even be blood. I would have it checked if it is recurring or if there is a larger amount of blood. ...Read more
Start simple: If not diabetic or other diet restrictions, and will eat them, try increasing fruits (apple juice / sauce, prunes, etc.). It hurt. Make it soft: She is holding it in because one of her bowel movement must have hurt in the past. You need to give her a stool softener mineral oil, MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) etc and keep her having loose, soft bowel movements for 2 weeks. So soft that she can't hold it in. It will get messy at times. The softer the better. After she forgets that it hurts to go, then you can start backing off on the stool softeners. Not toofast. ...Read more
