Doctor insights on:
Large bump with puss/blood groin area where vagina meets its is pea size and very painful should I be worried? I don't think it's STD 1 sex partner.
This is an increasingly common problem I see in my office and often is a consequence of pubic shaving. It depends on where the bumps are but they are usually caused when a bacteria called Staph enters cracks in the skin and digs in.
1. stop shaving (if you do) for now
2. do not squeeze! This can spread bacteria to other areas
3. see your doctor who can treat by draining or with appropriate meds ...Read more

Not of concern:
If the lymph nodes have stayed stable for four years, you do not need to be concerned about these.

Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Right upper quadrant pain first in front and then in back to side and down into groin. Blood, urine, ultrasound and X-ray normal. 2 mos in pain. Why?
Swollen posterior cervical lymph node for 3 monthsThis week I developed 2 more on the right side of my neck and 1 on my right groin. Blood ok. Lymphoma?
Possible: When cervical nodes are defined and they are firm and possibly malignant then primary should be defined, especially in the oral cavity. Should such nodes then increase in number and wind up in other node bearing sites such as groin, lymphoma should be suspect. Excisional bx is in order to make dx. Aspiration bx of no value due to lack of defining structural changes in node. ...Read more

Angiogram & balloon artery left groin after developed a blood clot left groin in the vein on blood thinners what exercise is best? Tightness normal?
Or blood clots in veins is treated by blood thinners and compression. Continue normal activities. If leg is too tight you may need angiogram to evaluate the extent of clot. If clot extends up from groin, it should be treated by medicines that dissolve the clot. Also it depends on when you developed the clot.
These issues need to be discussed with your physician.
Hope that helps. ...Read more

Brown blood discharge and pulsing groin twinges radiating down to thighs. Period should be 5 days from now. Wondering what could be causing this.

What do you suggest if my son (3) has swollen lymph nodes in neck and groin but bloods all normal should I still be worried?
Depends on situation: Lymph glands generally swell after stimulation and can do so after a general illness, vaccinations, or if limited to one area, some local factors. If they enlarge and gradually shrink back to resting size within 3-4 weeks, they are behaving normally. You have done the initial baseline workup, so I would give it time and recheck if it persists too long. ...Read more

Drainage: A boil that opens by itself and drains may heal on its own. Likely there is some pus mixed with the bloody drainage, although it may not be obvious. Thurner syndrome: The majority of patients are not diagnosed with May-Thurner Syndrome until they develop an iliofemoral DVT. Your doctor may perform a physical evaluation, a review of your medical and family histories and a series of tests in order to diagnose your condition. Imaging tests such as ultrasound, CT scan or an MRI can produce visible images of a clot. The diagnosis of May-Thurner Syndrome may be achieved with venography with intravascular ultrasoundTreatment for May-Thurner Syndrome typically revolves around alleviating any symptoms that have arisen and preventing any other complications from occurring. If a DVT is present, you may need to take an anticoagulation medication to thin your blood and help discourage clots from propagating. If a clot has been identified, treatment may involve catheter directed thrombolytic therapy which can break up clot in the portion of the affected vein. This is done through insertion of a catheter that travels through the vein. In some cases, mechanical thrombectomy and thrombolysis are able to dissolve the clot in anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days.. ...Read more

Pimple near my groin area turned a light shade of grey. Popped it a lot of blood came out. Hurt a lot and pimple got bigger. What can I do to treat it?
See a doc to treat: This is called an abscess. The "definitive" treatment is to get it cut open and drained. They call that an "I and D" (incision and drainage). The doctor might also prescribe antibiotics. In the meanwhile you should do hot soaks on the area. However, you really need to go to your doctor for examination and treatment. ...Read more

Seek urgent medical: Any abscess can lead to serious complications due to spreading infection. Bleeding, if more than minimal also requires urgent evaluation and treatment. A month ago I noticed 2 swollen painless groin lymph nodes, I now have 5+. Rubbery and moveable. Blood test showed nothing. What could it be?
Normal or infection: You can have a skin infection, like a pimple, on your thighs or groin that will cause them. If you are sexually active, sexually transmitted infections can cause them. If they are about the size of shelled peanuts, then they can just be normal. If they are from an infection, then they should shrink in a couple of weeks. The normal blood test means that it is nothing bad that you have. ...Read more

I have a purple lump near my groin. I did squeeze it but onky blood came out at first. My skin does cover it could it be to do with being hot or moist?
Lump: It sounds like this is a lymph node or an abscess formation. I would have a physician evaluate this. I do not recommend poping this as this can cause a potential infection, and potentially cellulitis. If it is an abscess, usually a hot towel to the skin can promote it to drain on its own. ...Read more
