At the end of my urination, my urethra seems to hurt and I feel like I still have to pee even when I'm done. Is it a UTI? No blood.

At the end of my urination, my urethra seems to hurt and I feel like I still have to pee even when I'm done. Is it a UTI? No blood.

Thoughts: It could be urethritis, which usually is a non specific irritation of the tip of the urethra, or a UTI. Best is to get a urinalysis to be certain. Other causes urethritis could be related to other inflammatory diseases such as Reiter's syndrome. Talk to your doctor. Read more

Placing: Placing objects in the urethra is dangerous. If you can imagine, the male urethra is only about three milimeters at it largest width. That is very small. There is very little room for a foriegn object in a man's urethra. With the history of bleeding and pain, it definately sounds as if your boyfriend injured his urethra. If there is swelling in that area, it would make the diameter of the urethra even smaller which can make it difficult to pass urine or even semen. The male urethra can be easily scarred. Scarring would lead to a small diameter of the urethra as well. This is called a stricture. I think it is important to get a medical evaluation.
Important lesson - placing objects in the urethra can cause long -term problems. Don't do it. Read more

What do I do when I have frequent but short burning urination and and when I wiped my vulva I noticed a blood stained mucoid discharge from my urethra?

Go see your doctor: Very interesting. On the "answer questions" page, you're listed as being from ghana so I was trying to figure out how to best help you there. But now that I'm typing out my answer, it shows you in columbia, md! Painful frequent urgent urination suggests bladder infection. These symptoms w/addition of back pain & fever might be due to kidney infection. Bottom line, go see your doctor for evaluation. Read more

I have soreness or itching around the opening of the urethra but I know it's not an std. Also no burning or blood when I urinate. What could it be?

Family practice: How do you know it's not an std. It's probably a yeast infection. May try Monistat otc. But I recommend getting it checked out if you are sexually active. Read more

13 y/o daughter has irregular periods may be on now but when urinating after its all out blood drops down sperate from P everytim Urethra cancer??!

Not urethral cancer: Urethral cancer would be the least likely diagnosis. Far more likel is simply passage of menstrual blood retained in vagina, and then "pushed out" at the end of urination. Read more

Blood in urine. Some pain in urethra?

Gross hematuria: Gross hematuria (visible blood in the urine) along with flank pain in a 50-year-old male can have more than one cause. Infection along the the urogenital system & kidney stones are the most common. Other things such as malignancy and a ruptured cyst are also possible. A red urine may not always be blood & "urethra pain" may not be urethra pain. A doctor should be consulted for these symptoms. Read more

After I pee then wipe, there is bright red blood. My urine seems light colored though. Is it possible that it's just wound at the end of my urethra?

After I pee then wipe, there is bright red blood. My urine seems light colored though. Is it possible that it's just wound at the end of my urethra?

Need check up: Bleeding anywhere in the body is a cause for concern. So watch yourself more closely and use white (toilet paper)paper to wipe. If the bleeding persists (and it is not time for your period) you need to see a gynecologist or a urologist to find out where you are bleeding from? Then the cause can be treated. Read more

After a 4 month ecoli uti, I now have weird tickling? Sensation in my urethra and very tiny traces of blood on urine test strip?

Repeat culture: First, you should not have a UTI for 4 months. If you have been properly cultured and treated the UTI should resolve. A "tickling" sensation could be a sign of irritation / inflammation in the urethra (urethritis). Please get re-cultured and make sure you are being treated appropriately. Read more
