I've had a history of hemorrhoids, I just had a bowel movement and I the toilet was red and when I wiped there was a little blood clot is that normal?

Could be: As a physician I do not like to describe things as "normal" or not but use ideas like expected or understandable. We are born with hemorrhoidal tissues and bright red blood and even small clots can come from them. If there was no pain then it probably was not a tear or fissure. Keep an eye on this and if it continues you really need to see a provider and have a rectal exam if not short scope. ...Read more

I had a bowel movement, did not strain much but wiped and had lots of blood on paper with clots. Blood in toiled. Every time I have bowel movements see blood today. More bowel movements than normal? Can you tell me what is going on. I am on blood thinners.

Blood: Blood on the outside of stool or seen only on the paper suggests hemorrhoids. Bloodmixed with stool suggests a bleeding source higher in the bowel, which can in turn represent infection, inflammation, vascular malformation, and tumor among other causes.

If you are seeing blood on your toilet paper on a regular basis, or if you have blood mixed with stool, you should see a gastroenterologist. You will probably need a colonoscopy. ...Read more

Does the drug vincristine cause blood clots in the bowel, grandad had rcvp them had a blood clot in the major artery supplying the bowel?

I suspect this was..: True...True and unrelated. Coagulopathy, is not a side effect of vincristine. However, having a cancer (such as lymphoma that I suspect your dad has) can elevate clotting risk all by itself. Prednisone in rcvp can elevate risk of clotting as well. Additionally, as a 67yo man, he could have had pre-existing vascular disease that elevated his risk for clotting in those vessels that supply the gut. ...Read more
