Possible: Clots below the knee only usually do not cause symptoms or significant problem even if they dislodge as they are too small to cause . Some experts do not even recommend blood thinners for this kind of clots as they often dissolve on their own. You should continue full activity as normal as this hastens improvement. If you have a lot of symptoms then short course of blood thinner is seasonable.. ...Read more

Unlikely: Risk factors that increase the chance of blood clot include sitting for long periods of time (low blood flow), smoking, having personal or family history of clots, birth control or pregnancy, inflammatory diseases (eg Crohns or rheumatoid arthritis). The only way to know for sure is by ultrasound. If the pain on the left worsens or swelling begins to occur, then reasonable to see a physician. ...Read more

If painful, red or swollen get examined this week. If this has occurred within the last 2 days: NO HEAT- it will only make it spread.
