I have upper arm swelling between my shoulder and elbow. I have had several blood tests, 3 mri's (brain, throat, cervical spine) and ultrasound of my arm for blood clot, chest X-ray and everything is normal. Any thoughts?
No: A negative D-diner test is a good test to rule out that leg pain and swelling are caused by a blood clot at the time the test is run. It doesn't predict the possibility of clots developing in the future or if there is a genetic predisposition to clots. The risk of developing blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, coronary artery thrombosis) is slightly increased in persosn taking ocp, however, this is not normal.
