Most likely not: It is not clear if the pt had a blood clot in the leg or to the lung. Hip pain per se is not a sign of a blood clot. There is more to the story we have not heard. Anatomy: Veins drain blood from periphery to the heart. Veins in the leg go up to the pelvis and then to the heart. If a clot forms in the vein in the leg, it can grow and reach the pelvis.
