Blood Clot Behind The Eye
How much of a chance is it that the body can naturally dissolve a blood clot behind the eye in the temporal artery?
Clears by itself:
Your body will usually dissolve the blood clot on its own. The more important question is why it happened?
Are you on blood thinners? Did you have trauma? Are you a diabetic or have high blood pressure? The important thing is to address the problem that caused the blood clot to form in the first place to prevent it from occurring again. ...Read more

Eye exam: If there is blood in the white of your eye this is a broken blood vessel; however, if you truly feel that something is trying to come out of your eye, I would advise ER evaluation. A broken blood vessel, will cause the white of your eye to fill with blood. If your vision is distorted, go NOW! ...Read more

Will likely resolve: Not sure how long ago you had the piercing done, but most likely the clot will resolve itself in a week or two. The tongue is a very vascular structure (has good blood supply) and can bleed quite a bit when injured. But also because of this good blood supply, injury to the tongue often heals quite well, and rather quickly. So, if after 2 wks and the clot is not any better, consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more
My 16 month old baby fell from a high chair and hurt her eye. She has a large blood clot on the white off her eye should I be concerned?
If the trauma was bad enough to cause a hemorrhage within the white of her eye, she should have a through dilated eye exam by an ophthalmologist to see if there is any internal damage. She also may have a fracture.

Blood clot in posterior to the retina due to blunt injury to the eye with loss of vission. Pls tell me if the vision comes back or not?
Depends: Depends on the severity of the hemorrhage. As an oculoplastc specialist I deal with blunt trauma all the time but I leave the retina issues to a retinal specialist and concern myself with the bones. Hopefully one of the excellent retinal specialists on this forum will answer. As a general rule, the longer the vision remains poor and is not improving, the poorer the prognosis. ...Read more
September 5th I got pink eye, it went away. Next Saturday I was ok. This Saturday my eyes got swollen shut and now I have a blood clot. Please help?
I'm not sure..: ...what you mean by blood clot? Perhaps you are seeing red/blood in the sclera/white part of your eye? Most conjunctivitis is viral, and will often clear without antibiotics. But with a recurrence, seemingly more severe with thicker discharge you need to see your ophthalmologist or primary provider. A physical exam and evaluation of your eyes is needed. Good wishes:) ...Read more

See your eye doctor: This is likely not a cause for concern. After a trauma to the eye, it is common for blood vessels in the white of the eye to break. This looks worse than it is. However, you should see an eye doctor to make sure you didn't suffer any more serious injury. ...Read more

Could a bulging vain in my forehead above my left eye be a blood clot? I read on a website that it may be a blood clot and to treat it with heat.
Not blood clot: If or if it's best to see your eye doctor. Chances are high that is not a blood clot and often blood clots are not visibly seen by the naked eye. It's microscopic and small and the tissues around it could appear swollen (ie, blood clot in lower leg, DVT). Bulging veins alone don't indicate that a blood clot is present. Please see your eye doctor soon to confer & alleviate your worry. Be well! ...Read more

Suddenly saw a small blood clot in my eye. I have chest infection. Hasn't recovered. Due to blowing of nose? That was the last thing I did. Help
If you're describing an area of blood overlying what would normally be the white of your eye (the "sclera"), you're describing a "subconjunctival hemorrhage" - a completely harmless condition which will go away on its own and needs no treatment. It can often happen after straining, as with blowing your nose.

Artery occlusion: Unfortunately there was most likely a retinal artery occlusion or ischemic optic neuropathy of the eye during the surgery.
